Completed a beginners 5 week evening class with Christine and It had a very relaxed and fun atmosphere. The class was small so it gave you opportunity to have lots of help from Christine when needed. Everyone who attend the class was friendly and at different levels which was all good as they passed on tips and ideas. The 2 hrs in the class went quickly once you were involved in your project. I made a dress (hem still to finish, may go on.a Saturday to get help). I would recommend the Sewing Sanctuary and there are a variety of classes on offer, Thank you Christine More...

My idea of heaven (ok a small part of it). Jumping on a train to Harrogate for 3 hours of zoning out to enjoy being creative at The Sewing Sanctuary. I attended a create your own bunting workshop as part of a hen weekend. Christine welcomed us and explained very clearly what we would be doing in the session. We were given advice and encouragement throughout the afternoon and she even made novices like myself feel at ease with a sewing machine! I attend a course on how to use the sewing machine (because I had forgotten). I found the course very helpful and useful. On a recent trip to visit friends in Portugal I was able to help my friend’s housekeeper solve a problem - her sewing machine was at the mender’s and she had been lent a sewing machine but she couldn’t work out how to get a zigzag stitch on it . She thought it might be broken and was embarrassed to tell anyone. I was able to sort out the problem! It wasn’t like my own or the ones on the course but I had the confidence and ability to work it out having been on the course. I was so proud of myself and the housekeeper was very happy! More...
