The Sands Is Delightful!!! We are not members ( . . . membership is required) but we were lucky enough to be invited guests. The facilities are wonderful. One of many beach clubs on the ocean side in long island's coast, Atlantic Beach. It's on the same strip as Long Beach. It is the same coastline as Jones Beach. Sands beach is white, soft sand with a rocky formation sticking out of it on the left hand side, so it makes peering out at the ocean interesting visually. The club itself is a private club that you pay a fee for the summer for to rent a space, whether that be a locker or cabana. The cabanas are a place for you to store all your beach equipment, food, etc and also have a shower inside to rinse and change at the end of the day. Each cabana comes with a dining table and 4 chairs as well as 2 lounge chairs. The club has a restaurant, a pizza shop, and an ice cream window. There is also a pool. You can hang out by your cabana on the patio or go down to the sand. Or better yet, ask your cabana boy to set up your chairs on the beachfront looking out at the ocean. Great memories of weddings here over the years. Was just there for first time in over 10 years and it seems they redid it since last time i was here. Cant say its elegance has evolved with the times... it's more of an elegance of yesteryear. (The house microphone died in middle of the ceremony which sorta sucked... my suggestion to management is to invest $50 in a few extra wires. Came for a women's conference. Nice venue. Friendly staff. Decent buffet. It was too cold for bathing suits but we were able to walk on the beach which is beautiful. Would return.

This was a great venue for a wedding! My daughter was married here on the beach in October and had her wedding reception here. The ceremony was brief, sweet, and very meaningful. The vista was beautiful, an unobstructed view of the ocean. Just lovely.

The cocktail hour was amazing, with a bar and a stage for live music. My daughter's theme was pasta & potatoes. I was pretty busy during cocktail hour, so I didn't have as much food ad I would have liked, but all guests enjoyed themselves. Many of the guests remarked at how fun, plentiful, and delicious cocktail hour food and drink were.

The main reception area was beautiful with a nice dance floor. The food was FABULOUS! I ordered the filet mignon and it was the best I had eaten in a long time. Many of my friends remarked that the food went beyond your "typical wedding food."

There was an after-hours party in a lounge space that was so much fun. The bride and the groom were finally able to relax with close family and friends. Many of the guests had left, but close friends stayed. It was an unforgettable experience to see the happy bride dancing to Abba with her guests surrounding and serenading her. What a perfect ending to a beautiful day!

Very nice beach with cabana's but the lobby/indoor area, feel a bit tacky and out dated. Apparently it was severely impacted by hurricane sandy, but it appears to not have been restored to it's former glory. Although a private club, it still seems to get crowded here. Being very close to NYC is a plus too. More...
