The room was well kept, my partner myself and our baby really enjoyed the stay we had. Lovely, helpful, enthusiastic, kind, caring and attentive staff. We originally booked for two night and extended our stay for a further two nights. Are thoughts as soon as we entered oh posh which it is but although it’s posh the staff are so lovely and cater to your needs with a lovely calm caring attitude. We are very please with the outcome of our stay and will definitely be using this hotel again. It’s bang in the centre of all the shops and pleanty of activists to do around the area. Very pleased. We finally found the pub after driving past car park using sat nav about 4 times . The car park is on the road alongside the river, it is painted in cream and red and has sign to say Rose and crown carpark , it has a big archway Over a. .. this is the carpark at the back of hotel area. |We checked in, only to be told that the chef was on holiday and we weren’t able to get the 4 course meal we had booked and paid for through secret escapes. The receptionist was very apologetic and sent up a full size bottle of Prosecco rather than mini one as in our booking deal. But it meant we then had to find alternative food for evening.|The room was amazing, it was old with uneven floorboards and bare walls, just spectacular. The bed was huge with sofa at end of bed, a dressing table and a writing table. The bathroom was much more up to date with large shower and free standing bath, lovely beams on ceiling, good quality towels and complimentary bath gels, shampoo and body lotion. |Breakfast the next morning was from 8-10am. It was very quiet and you order your cooked breakfast with waitress. I asked if there was a vegetarian option but she said I could order anything I wanted from cooked menu, so I had mushrooms, tomatoes, hash brown, baked beans and an egg ... hubby had full English.|We had late check out but the housekeeper knocked on door about 10:45 and asked if we were checking out that day because she wanted to clean. The staff didn’t seem to have been told what our booking included.. like late check out and breakfast... not to mention 4 course dinner . I loved the hotel for its quirkiness but I’m not sure I would re visit Wisbech. More...

Really love this hotel. It's like a large crooked house due to parts of it being over 400 years old. Crooked stairs, sloping floors. It's really quirky and we love it. It's a shame it's in the centre of Wisbech so you will see and hear noisy locals! However, the breakfast is good and the staff are all lovely. Bed is comfortable and shower is good. Big white fluffy towels too. We had a wonderful meal one evening in their pretty restaurant and Mario was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely return. More...

We cannot thank Mario and James enough for such a welcoming and pleasant experience, very kind and helpful and also a great laugh. Me and my girlfriend often have little get aways but this one we both agreed has been an all round great stay. The beds are really comfortable, our room was cleaned and refreshed upon returning from a day out, which brings me to my next point of how well situated the hotel is to nearby places to visit, it's out of the way but not too far from nice places to go and see. We are from Brighton and this was worth the 3 hour drive up here. ||Again many thanks to Mario and James ||- Mac & Rachael x More...

Location of the hotel and room price was the first attraction to book double room in this hotel. Can't fault the service. Room was big and had plenty of space . Large double bed was so comfortable I slept like a child. Freshly cooked English breakfast included in the room cost was superb. This place is great for group stay or a casual date. RECOMMENDED. We came all the way from London using a Secret Escape deal. Staff were very friendly, with a warm welcome at check-in: Louise and Brittany in particularly and a mini little bottle of vino Spumante was in the room. Dinner was lovely, unfortunately my cold didn't let me taste the food. We had salmon on the first day and it was gorgeous, perfectly cooked and generous portions. Starters and deserts were excellent too in a lovely old restaurant.|Lounge area dating back to 1435 very pleasant. We enjoyed a couple more drinks there in a nice relaxing atmosphere.|The morning breakfast was also really nice and hot ; all perfectly cooked and fresh.||Our room was clean, tidy and nice - it lived up to the price paid and had all we needed. Shower was pleasant but less powerful but still good.||We found the bed particularly comfortable, but that's arguably a personal preference; different people like different mattresses.||We would have preferred curtains to the blinds, but they were OK.||We were woken by noise a couple of times - our room backed on to storage cupboards which the staff must have been using early in the morning. |Definitely we can recommend this little diamond if you wish to escape from a busy City like London. Went to the Rose and Crown under Secret Escapes for a 1 night stay. We had a nice room with a 4 poster bed which was very comfortable. Nice bathroom with a big shower but unfortunately it wasn't very powerful at all. The tea tray wasn't overly stocked as only had a couple of teabags and plastic spoons! We had an evening meal at the hotel which was fantastic, so tasty and well cooked. The homemade honeycomb cheesecake was absolutely delicious and compliments to the chef! The breakfast wasn't quite up to the same standard but was ok.
