Shruthi is an exceptional baker! She custom made a 30th birthday cake and had the best recommendations on color to the flavor of the cake, filling and frosting. I trusted her with the choices and wanted a certain design since it was for my husbands birthday who's a musician by passion. Shruthi was also very accommodating in accepting my cake order just 5 days prior to the event and communicating throughout for any questions I had. The order was vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and chocolate hazelnut cream filling. The cake had two extra customizations which were completely edible and delicious!! This is a short notice order cake review. I found Shruti on yelp after messaging a lot of customize cake shop last Monday May 13 and My niece's bday was on May 15. And only Shruti said yes. She's very pleasant to talk to and get back to your messages right away. The price is on the high side but it's understandable coz I ordered it two days before my niece's bday. The cake was very soft and velvety and its not too sweet which is a plus for us. And the attention to details of the design is also a plus. We always ordered customize cakes for our bdays and Shruti never disappoints with the design and the flavor. We will be ordering in the future from her. Shruthi is very responsive, has a great design eye, and makes beautiful, tasty cakes! She was the easiest vendor to work with for a large birthday party I recently planned. Based on a few inspirational images I sent her, she crafted a great Nintendo Super Mario design (with a mock that she emails you in advance!) that captured my boys' individual interests by including their favorite Pokemon characters. The two cakes she made were the hit of the party and tasted super yummy also. I especially appreciated how fast, responsive and communicative she was. They got my cake done in time, looking just like the image I'd shown them, and everyone said it was delicious. My only complaint is that it is very expensive $$$ A 15-person custom cake was $110. If I'd known that ahead of time I probably would've gone with a different bakery or just gotten a store bought cake and done the icing myself. But I got around contacting them late (there was only 5 days before my party) and by the time I got a quote back from them it was kind of too late.If you don't mind high prices, this plate is quite good. I'd probably go with them to do more complicated things (such as pictured) and not just cakes that have custom writing on them. More...

I ordered an animal theme cake for my son's first birthday party. The cake turned out very well and my guests were curious to know where I bought my cake. Taste was amazing and better than store bought cake. Usually there will be let over cake and nobody would bother to complete the cake next day. We ordered a cake, cupcakes, and macaroons for a party, and we were very pleased with Shruti's response time in planning, prepping, and the final products. Everything was as expected, tasted great, and made all our guests ask for boxes to take stuff home. My friends had ordered a chocolate ganache cake for my birthday. The detailing on the cake topping was very fancy with a sweet joystick that had a tiny wire to give it a more realistic feel. The chocolate ganache cream on the outside was very thick and yummy. The cake was a bit moist and powdery making it easy to have a big chunk. The cream and the cake had the right level of sweetness that encourages you to have another piece. I ordered a birthday cake and 15 cake pops for my son's 2nd bday. Shruthi was very attentive to what I wanted, how I wanted and went over the possibilities of design within my budget. When she feared the cake would be small and not enough for the number of guests that rsvp'ed, she took the initiative to add a layer of cake at no extra cost. Rare to see such professionalism doubled with the right talent. The cake came out looking very cute and was delicious! Everything was fresh and the best part was, I got to display the cake for a good 3 hours before finally cutting it and it was still fresh as ever!! I'm the most laziest person ever, I'm writing this review almost after a year :)
We had bought rasmalai cake from shruthi for my son's birthday and it was a super hit. .. every single person in the party loved it...
We would definitely come back for next event :)
Plus additional bonus is shruthi is very accommodating and friendly person to work with.. it was super sweet of her to once to make and give me smallest cakes I've ever to taste,

By now, I have eaten at least half a dozen cakes and more pastries (macarons, cupcakes, etc) than I can count from The Rolling Pin. So what follows is pretty much an expert opinion.

First, I must say that it has been a hit every single time!!!!

The cakes are moist, flavorful and oh so pretty! They are the best cakes I have ever had! Shruthi always goes out of her way to please her clients and nothing seems to hard for her to do.

I highly recommend her cakes but with one warning : be ready to spend more time working out because once you taste her work, there is no going back and the pounds might start accumulating More...

You can find 2 types of Birthday cakes, an eye treat OR a mouth treat.. I was very sure that i wanted a cake that's very delicious and melts in the mouth and inclined towards the later for my sons birthday. I wasnt very particular about the appeal as i know well that great designs and decorations can me made out of fondant cakes but they doesnt necessarily taste well and I had noticed large chunks of such cakes often going in to bins after the celebration. First time after I talked to Shruti I wasnt very sure but later made up my mind to take a chance and give business to this newbie.. I treated this as any other IT project and decided to work with her very close (yes I know a screw up wud cost me a ton..!!)..My requiremnt - I asked her to bake a cake that tastes similar to the one I get from paris baguette.. We had plenty of interactions and I liked the fact that she put enough time in understanding the requiremnt, making the recommendations and certainly put the best of her skills in the execution. She baked a 2 tier 3 layered cake (Strawberry , raspberry and blueberry). This tasted great and exceeded all my expectations. I wudnt hesitate to say that her creation has beaten the one I get from paris baguette hands down.. !! Over all feedback - Taste - 7 out of 5 (yes u read it right), Price - 5 out of 5 (Very reasonable) - Design and decoration 2.9 out of 5 - (My standards are very high !! I also know one cannot have the cake in the hand and eat it too, so I have gone easy on this ask as I wanted a delicious one !!).. More...
