The Ringwood Clinic has been a great help with many aches and pains that I get from my training. I am a natural bodybuilder competing in the BNBF. The sport puts a huge stress on the body and thanks to Alex I have managed to avoid having and injuries due to managing my body. Alex is friendly, professional and really gets to the source of any pain. I have no hesitation is recommending Alex to anyone.

The Ringwood Clinic has been a huge help and relief to the both minor and more serious injuries caused from Trampolining. With reasonable pricing and flexible appointment times, the therapy received has been a great help . And with the injuries that need perhaps some chiropractic work, they're happy to recommend the best around. Dealt with an extremely professional manner, they do everything they can to keep you pain free. I'd have no problem recommending this establishment to anyone in need of any sports therapy.

Services

This type of acupuncture is specifically applied to help with muscular based issues. Medical Acupuncture is sometimes also referred to as 'dry needling'.

This treatment can be used alongside other treatments such as sports massage but can also be applied as a 'stand alone' treatment .

Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system and through this can provide a variety of effects. These effects include a localised increase in blood flow and the release of the body's natural pain killers serotonin and endorphin.

At The Ringwood Clinic we have many people who come in to see us for a sports or deep tissue massage session.

You may not necessarily have a specific 'injury' but many people feel that they will benefit from a sports massage session (or course of sessions). Some people come for a 'one off' massage whilst others come on a more regular basis for these sessions. This all depends on the individual.

Here are some real examples of why people have come to the clinic for sports massage or deep tissue massage sessions with us:
Runners or sports people with tight calfs.
People with stiff necks or shoulders from work - we see these problems a lot!
People who need a full body sports massage to free up the tight muscles and trigger points
Individuals who have just finished a marathon, running event or triathlon and are looking to recover quickly.
Shin splints sufferers.
Footballers with 'pulled' hamstrings - we'll also assess why this has occurred and give you professional rehab advice.
People who need help with tennis elbow - again we would assess this to find out why it is occurring.
For those who experience lower back pain.

Ultrasound is useful for both chronic and acute injuries. It helps improve the quality of scar tissue & speeds up the inflammatory process.

The primary service we provide is professional injury treatment and advice. During these sessions we will assess your injury or issue and will look at some of the following markers:
Assess your joint range of motion (ROM)
Observe your Posture
Appraise your biomechanics
Measure your muscle length and strength
Test your ligaments
Assess joints
As well as several others test and assessments

Once we have established why your problem is occurring we will start treatment right away. It's also very likely we will have to send you off with some home exercises to do. These may be stretching, strengthening or mobilising exercises. We will also give you clear advice on when to use heat versus when to use ice to help your injury. Additionally if we find that your problem is caused or irritated by your posture we will give specific guidance on how to improve this.
