After firing our first contractor, for constant delays with starting our project (2 bathrooms) we found Chris. Chris was professional from the start. He was attentive to our needs while still providing input and insight for our project. There was a written quote provided, and an ammendment was made at our request which chris corresponded until late into the evening hours. Chris's crew were exeptional! They showed up on time, and ready to work, every day that they were scheduled. The work site was left clean and tidy each day until the job was complete. The crew was very respectful of our home. This was an extensive kitchen renovation involving the removal of a supporting wall and incoporating all but one room on the main floor.
From the initial meeting Dennis (Durham) was straight forward and covered all the important areas including a detailed budget.
Communication was excellent, with both Dennis and site supervisor Sean available either by text, phone or email.
Workers showed up on time, the quality of trades and the work they did was excellent. No renovation of this size is issue free, but all the issues were dealt with calmly and professionally, and all to my satisfaction.
The three month time line was met. The end result was as good as I had hoped for.

Ah-mazing! We had a whole basement reno done. Robbie drove through an actual blizzard to start the project on time which was certainly not expected but shows the level of commitment these guys demonstrate. Dan communicated with us throughout the project and answered any questions we had in a timely manner. He listened to us and ensured the delivery of the results we were looking for. The level of craftsmanship and professionalism shown by Justin and Adam was above and beyond. Attention to detail was spot on. We had a particularly tricky spot of weirdly sloped duct work that I thought would be impossible to hide or make aesthetically appealing but Justin did such a good job! It's now one of my favourite things about the basement! The subcontractors used for electrical and plumbing were also excellent. Carpet install was quick and we love the way it looks. Chris is a professional and disciplined project manager, these qualities were demonstrated in his approach on our projects. This included pre-meetings to understand our needs and to set expectations prior to the start of the physical work. During the project, there were regular updates and he made every effort to honour time commitments. The work space was kept in a tidy and livable condition each evening. The work was done well, all the guys kept doing their work on time. All issues were resolved in timely manner and very satisfied with the final work. Only issue I had was some communication gap with Dennis, and because of this some work was missed. To get this work included again would have caused the delay in finishing the work. The project was a complete renovation and reorientation of fixtures for both the master and hallway shared bathroom. The project team (Dennis & Sean) and sub contractors are experienced tradesman and the finished work is proof of their quality craftsmanship.
If you are thinking of any renovation work, expect the house to be dusty even though the team cleans up daily. Prepare your budget for additional cost due to unforeseen work once the walls and floors are removed. We had additional work due to poor "builder" installed products or workmanship, however, Dennis & Sean do recommend affordable solutions and if required call upon other reputable sub contractors.
Due to the number of variables, the completion date of your renovation project may over-run due to on the availability of material, sub contractors and unforeseen work. I would recommend Dennis & Sean along with their sub contractors to mitigate these activities and hire them for any future projects. More...

We engaged TROC for a ensuite bathroom reno and to address a leak issued which had not been well handled by a prior contractor. We were very happy with the reno, Great design ideas using the existing foot print and not doing a total rebuild (i.e. focus on new shower space, toilet and tiles. I bought a sink from Ikea and T-Roc were the installers. Everything was done up to code and was of a high quality. I was quite specific with my timing and they were happy to work around it. The entire project took about half a day and was done to a very high standard They offered solutions to any problems that rose up and were quick to follow up and fix the issue when my sink was leaking. We decided to renovate our dated ensuite bathroom. We wanted new fixtures, a bathtub and had some plumbing issues to address. We went with TROC because of their emphasis on partnership and communication. Every contractor seemed to have examples of good work and projects that went well. But, when we talked to TROC, they told a different story that was appealing. Their emphasis was on working together on getting the project done. Every contractor had a rough quote, but TROC came with an itemized quote that turned out to be right on budget. It was these two things that led us to choose TROC over the others we talked to.The only wrinkle in the project was the time line. The project ended up taking much longer than anticipated. This was due to the delays in electrical inspections in our area. Unfortunately, delays in inspections would throw off scheduling of sub contractors which would, in turn, add delays. Sean (our site supervisor) was always in contact so we knew what was happening, but it was just frustrating.All in all, I would recommend TROC to a friend or family. More...

We started out with a complete renovation of out kitchen. We were so impressed with the work done that we decided to let T-RoC also do our 2 Bathrooms and we were not disappointed. It was a pleasure having them in our condo. They were very professional, friendly and the work was top notch. We will certainly call on them again if we need other work to be done. We are not new to home renovations, having done our whole main floor last year. We really wish we had known about The Renovators of Canada then as our experience this time around has been so much better. From our initial consultations with Pina, through to the end of our project which was lead by Sean, it has been a pleasure working with these professionals. They have been careful to listen to what we want, confirming every detail throughout the whole project in an effort to ensure that the final product is exactly what we envisioned. We received online daily records with photos and received timely responses whenever we had a question or a comment of our own to post. Our renovation has come in on budget and on time.The workmanship was well done. When there was a small glitch (there was only one), it was rectified right away. In particular, the tiling, which was a main feature of our renovation, was done with care, precision and an artist's eye -- our thanks to Luiz for doing such an excellent job! All the people who worked in our home treated it with respect and care -- the job site was always clean at the end of the day and when the job was finished, you would never have known we had just gone through a renovation (other than the fact that our bathroom has been beautifully transformed!) After a year of planning our fairly significant renovation, we engaged with a contractor to begin work in Sept 2017. After a short time, we expressed concern with the progress made as well as, the workmanship and quality with parts of the renovation. After enlisting the help of Perry (President, TROC) and Todd (Project Manager, TROC, York North branch) with wanting to make our renovation “right”, we engaged with this team to continue completing our renovation. From the get go, they were focused on us, the customer and our expectations, and immediately put our minds to ease. They executed on the plan, maintained regular communications, and said and completed what they claimed they would. A special mention needs to also go to John, who corrected many mistakes that were made with the previous contractor and his workmanship and quality is bar none. Wow! Where to start? This renovation went as smooth as butter. Dennis and Sean prided themselves on daily and more than daily communication. They were there for us all the way. The 2 most important ingredients for a successful home project are 1) work with people who collectively have an immense resource of knowledge about all aspects of the project (in our case, kitchen renovation. 2) work with people who treat your kitchen project with integrity. We did a full kitchen, powder room and main floor Reno with Dennis and Sean from T-Roc. As this was our first major Reno, Dennis and Sean were very knowledgeable and professional from start to finish, I realized that we had the right team when I called on Friday afternoon on a long weekend and I heard back that same day, they were always there to answer, discuss, problem solve whenever needed. The best answer I got from both was, it's your house it’s you’re not happy with something let me know.
