We stayed one night in this beautiful hotel.||Room was perfect. We stayed in the deluxe room and the room looked perfect. Clean and very modern .||||Bathroom was very spacious with large shower and rainfall head. The bathroom had 2 robes and slippers also which was a nice bonus. Really nice shower gels too.||||Bed was comfy and had tea/coffee making facilities.(could of done with more milk) also had complementary local biscuits and chocolates.||||We didn't have the breakfast but it did look nice.||||Room also had a vanity table which the wife loved.||||Only small issues would of been that one of the bedside tables light didn't work and not all the channels work on the TV but the main ones did so not a real issue||||Overall we would most definitely stay again but maybe longer ||Thank you for the great stay and friendly welcome More...

My partner and I stayed here on a travelzoo deal and were not disappointed. The deal included afternoon tea on arrival. We couldn’t believe how much we got. The sandwiches were full of egg, ham and mustard and tuna. There was also scones with jam and cream and a slice of walnut cake each. We also had the choice of tea and coffee. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was lovely and, although facing the road, was very quiet. Breakfast was delicious too with plenty of choice for hot and cold food. The hotel is right at the top of Windermere and takes a couple of minutes to reach the shop, restaurants and pubs. You can also have a casual walk to Bowness which takes about half and hour. I would definitely recommend The Ravensworth and would stay there again next we are in Windermere.| More...

Just had a 4 night stay here and thoroughly recommend this hotel. We only had the basic double room but it was more than adequate for us. Afternoon tea included on day of arrival. We booked via Travelzoo which proved to be a good deal as it included breakfast, otherwise breakfast is £10 per person. Onsite parking is free. Windermere town centre is only a couple of hundred yards away with a few cafes, restaurants pubs etc. Staff all friendly without being intrusive. Will stay again next time we are in the Lakes. What a charming place to stay! The Ravensworth is a very short walk from Windermere rail station. It's a beautiful grey stone building with so much character. We were greeted very warmly on arrival and given our key early so we were able to go off and wander and return straight to our room later that afternoon. We stayed in one of the annexe rooms and it was absolutely fantastic. The room itself was very spacious. The fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard and the addition of a bottle of water, chocolates and biscuits alongside the tea and coffee was very welcome and much appreciated. The storage facilities for clothes etc was excellent. The bathroom was also spacious with a huge shower cubicle and incredible power shower. The cleanliness and quality throughout was incredible. Another thing which we appreciated was the fantastic central heating which made the room super cosy and didn't turn off unexpectedly too early (as in many other establishments). The towelling dressing gowns were so much appreciated too. In addition to a spacious and very lovely room, the annexe rooms have their own small outdoor courtyard/patio area - unheard of in a guest house! The weather was absolutely perfect during our stay, although a little chilly, but we enjoyed the outdoor space too. We didn't have breakfast during our stay as we rarely eat much until late morning but the facilities looked beautiful. The dining area was lovely and it led out onto a lovely patio/balcony which we'll definitely explore further on our next visit. There is also a guest lounge which is very homely and has lovely sofas to sit and read and games/books to borrow. There is also another guest lounge with a coffee machine. All in all The Ravensworth is by far the very best guest house we have ever stayed in - not just in the Lakes - and we will definitely return. Thank you for an excellent mini break. As seasoned Lakes Lovers we can't wait to come back. More...

Booked on room only basis after looking on TripAdvisor. This place exceeded our expectations, free parking right at the door and so handy for the bars, shops and restaurants. Room large with lots of extras which we really appreciated. Bottle of water, couple if wine glasses, tea, coffee and biscuits and a wee chocolate to top things off. Also dressing gowns and slippers in a wonderful large walk in shower with free toiletries. Building looks quite old, and decor is good, host very welcoming. Would definitely go back. More...

Took a 4 day trip to Windermere so my daughter could attend a birthday party, and we stayed at the Ravenscourt Hotel. This was a superb place. We received a very warm chatty welcome from Helen and had a lovely room on the second floor (so glad we are still fit for the stairs along with two small cases. The room was so well equipped, and with the key we could come and go as we liked. The information book in the room was helpful. Breakfast was extra but was well worth having each morning, and was so well cooked and presented, delivered by lovely Helen and her assistants. Be careful when going to breakast in the conservatory since there are two steps up and then one down, and while there is a note to mind the step it is not marked across with yellow tape, as I found to my cost the first morning when I nearly tipped over! Ravensworth's situation in the village is close to Grey Walls Inn where we ate twice in the evening, and the other restaurant we can recommend is the Italian place. Both are only a short walk away. Three days of continuous rain and flooded roads were not pleasant but coming back each day to Ravencourt was the best for us. We would certainly stay again. More...

:) More...

Car parking is available at the ravensworth and is a blessing, there is absolutely no where to park on public roads because its so busy. The location is perfect, 2 minutes to lots of pubs, restaurants and shops. Its around a 20 minute pleasant walk to Lake Windermere and the boat cruises are quite reasonably priced. We had a king room in room 7 on the third floor, the rooms are spotlessly clean and beds are really comfortable with lots of storage space for cloths and a safe is available in the rooms at no extra cost. hairdryer is available in the rooms and is a 'proper' hairdryer and not one of those ones you find in hotel bathrooms that are pretty useless. The bathroom in our room was very clean with a good sized shower, shower gel and hand wash. . there is no air conditioning but we had a fan in the room and this cooled the room done somewhat. The lounge area is nice, WiFi is good inside the B&B but not so good in the outside area. We haven't had a breakfast so unable to comment on this, it's our last night tonight and we will try the breakfast tomorrow but at £7.50 it sounds like good value as it is so expensive eating out here. All in all a great stay and I would return to to this B&B but I would try and get one of the rooms in the annex as these seemed to have their own outside area, lovely for sitting out early morning or of an evening.
