Chilled, homely, clam (well anytime I've been in), a well light ambience, and very quirky and artsy. Love the interiors and the pretty props, especially at Christmas time it was so nice. Hired the basement bar for roughly 40 people and it was ideal!!
Heather was super helpful, despite making her take all the candles she'd just lit away! You can play your own music, decorate beforehand and they even tidied up following our sharp exit due to a fire alarm right before closing, so were worry free to go clubbing!
The nonchalant Mick, and Molly/Shannon were also lovely throughout the day!
Drinks are pretty standardly priced for Edinburgh, it's a great location but doesn't ever seem overly busy so the atmosphere in the upstairs bar is nice and chill! Thanks again � More...

I held my engagement party in their lovely downstairs bar. We had the whole room and bar to ourselves on a Friday night from 7. 30pm til 1am. Free of charge! All we had to do was spend over £350 on the bar, which for a larger party like us was no problem. They provided us with a PA/Mic system for games and karaoke and had an AUX cable so you could plug in your own music. Very reasonable prices for drinks and those of us who ordered cocktails were very happy with the quality. I'd like to thank the staff once again for being so accommodating and for giving us one of the best nights possible in celebration of our engagement. Highly recommended for small scale parties! We hired the downstairs bar for a hen party at the weekend! The staff were all friendly and really helpful. We were allowed to decorate how we wanted and had our own music as well. All the girls enjoyed the cocktail class as well. Would definitely recommend if looking for somewhere to hold a party! Thanks for a great afternoon! More...

Visiting for the fringe festival.As a venue it was OK.Only small downstairs but adequate and intimate.Plenty of room upstairs in the main bar and surprisingly places to sit with a good selection of beers.

Had a few good drinks here on a couple of odd occasions; the place has never really screamed 'favourite bar ever' but and I've been reliably informed that they offer their premises to local rehearsals for Fringe shows - I think that gives them a good shout. It's a decent pub after all.
