The Psychology Space provides professional clinical psychology services.
We work with individuals, couples, families and groups to provide either focused therapy or a one-off psychological formulation to help you think about ways forwards. We work collaboratively to aim to make the therapy most effective for you, your personal goals and your life situation.
Dr. Laura Sanger has had 15 years experience as a qualified clinical psychologist working in a variety of posts across the NHS and in a university setting, overseas. She is chartered by the British psychological association and registered with the Health Care Professions Council. She has further qualifications in Systemic practice and Narrative therapy (therapies which view relationships and social contexts as essential to understanding and changing things we are not happy about). She has worked with children, adults and families facing challenges from health, injury and loss, traumatic events, relationships, social contexts, work and other pressures to achieve positive outcomes and to get life back on track.
Clinical Psychology is a profession with a minimum of 7 years' university training to Doctoral level, in the UK. The training includes studying and using a range of different therapeutic approaches, supporting a wide variety of people from different backgrounds, with different things that they want to change. The training includes research and evaluation so that we can measure how effective our work is and tailor inventions to achieve the best outcome for the person we are working with. In the UK Clinical Psychologists must be registered with the Health Care Professions Council in order to practice. This provides regulation and quality assurance for members of the public. Enhanced police checks and professional insurance are always in place, and up to date.
