Amazing place with great and friendly staff great food and even worked around my fussy husband thank you so much
Very helpful staff. Good choice available, well cooked and presented.
We will go again.
Nice enough with good food, just a bit over modernised so the interior is like anywhere else.
Really nice bar. Attended a wedding do there and it was beautiful
Bit expensive but staff lovely and nice atmosphere
The staff are superb and the food is great for the price. You won't feel unwelcome and you won't feel out priced. Dogs and kids welcome and when it is sunny, the front and back terraces are a real sun spot.
The Plough has become a social hub for Alnwick. Although the drinks are rather expensive, the atmosphere and decor go a long way to making it worth a visit. I was last there for a evening event, the back room is beautiful, spacious and has a good speaker system for speeches. The food (roast beef dinner and cheese board) was outstanding quality, putting most steaks to shame. More...

Excellent meal! Trio of game was superb
Nice food for our Christmas dinner
Came here for our Christmas doo... fantastic venue and great staff. The beers are limited but if you like a couple of the main players, you'll be OK.
Brilliant service, waitress interested, friendly and helpful. Meal was lovely.
Two decent hand pulled ales when we were here, though it's hard to get a big car into the car park
Good drinks, fast service, pleasant atmosphere. Food looked good.
Delicious food, attention to detail is fantastic. I would highly recommend the plough.
Service and kitchen can be a bit as slow, but I still think this is the best place to eat in Alnwick.
Great service from excellent staff. Lovely atmosphere with good prices
Stayed in one the b&b rooms for a wedding. Staff were great, helpful and all lovely. Able to handle a gluten allergy with ease, even making gluten free cookies for our friends with the allergy. The bar and restaurant are very well decorated, as are the bedrooms. Breakfast was a high standard with hot options made to order which were lovely. Saw a range of rooms due to 4 couples attending wedding, including bride, groom, best man and bridesmaid. Being an old building, the rooms are all different shapes and sizes, and the cost alters for small or large which was nice to see as not all b&bs do that. Was a few things that weren't well thought through and gave us issues to work around. Wardrobes were squat and no other hooks in the room other than the bathroom so needed to carefully drape longer clothing as not to crease it (brides dress and bridesmaids dresses were hard to find long hanging space for within 3 rooms so considering the upcoming wedding farye could invest in some high hooks, away from bathroom or dressing table areas or offer brides a freestanding rack or valet stand). Coffee machines in a few bedrooms were plugged in, in the wardrobes so noticed a few of us moved them to bedside tables due to having wedding clothes in there, didn't want the coffee anywhere near the clothes. We had room 1 which is a small double, it was well decorated with lots of nice touches, complimentary water and snacks, good bedding, flat screen TV, coffee machine. Just a few niggles made it sub par, the bathroom used sani-flo so was noisy and smelled the entire stay. Mildew and cracked tiles stood out against the high finish in the bedroom. No shelf in the shower for your products. The dressing table was next to bathroom door so needed to move things or people clear to go in or out of the bathroom. The mattress could do with a refresh. Windows looked onto fire exit route and brick walls so did not open. Had a large AC unit which again needed to be relocated to use it and was not very effective and noisy in a small room overnight. The windows only had blinds which still let in the light of the fire escape after dark so adding to noisy and hot did not make for the best sleep. These things just gave our stay a few little challenges to work around but if the Plough can fix them it would be a wonderful small room. More...
Had a few drinks here. Good atmosphere and bar. Range of gins, which pleased the wife who sampled several. The beers weren't half bad either. Worth a visit. Friends had also eaten here & stayed next door at the boutique rooms and they come highly recommended. Worth a visit. More...
