What do you love most about your job?
I get great satisfaction when we can improve how a client currently runs their payroll. Often a small tweak to the process can save hours, or ensure an extra level of control is accomplished.
I also enjoy the feedback from our clients when they realise that they no longer need to worry about the headache of running their own payroll. Often they wish that they had outsourced years ago!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had a background in accountancy for about 10 years prior to setting up The Payroll Shop Ltd. In that time I dealt with payroll, but it was treated as something of an 'add on' service. I was aware of forthcoming legislation that HMRC was bringing in at that time, and felt that payroll really needed to be treated as a stand alone product.
It could save clients money by not going to their accountants for the service, and it meant we could offer a greater level of expertise just focusing on one area.

We really are a tailored payroll bureau. We listen to what you need, what reports you would like, and the timescales that suit you - the client.
We fit around you, not the other way around.
I take personal care with our clients. My mobile is always switched on, and should a client wish to come straight through to me, as one of the company directors, they can.
