Used as a base while delivering Christmas gifts to friends and family members. The gardens looked lovely and we will probably choose to stay again when we come back to Norfolk in 2020.

This as a good hotel to stay in as the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well decorated with nice finishes. Overall for the price it was very good. On checkout it was good I checked my bill as I had 2 peoples’ food on there; I hadn’t eaten in the restaurant at all! There was no hassle and it was removed immediately. More...

We stayed here as it was a short distance from Spixworth Barn and Cottages where we had a wedding to attend. We were greeted at reception, given the Wi-Fi code and shown our rooms. The room was comfortable, albeit slightly dated. There was tea and coffee available, a flat screen tv and a huge bed. The bathroom was very clean with hot water, and had what we needed for a nights stay. We came back to the hotel's own function so had to wait for that music and function to finish before being able to sleep but like most places, all done by midnight and no further noise. Breakfast was fine - the only things we would feedback would be, at some point the room carpets and decor could be updated as it contributes to that "old hotel smell" but was still clean, room 10 shower/bath didn't drain too quickly so might need looking at, But otherwise a very comfortable stay. We stayed as a group of nine, over three rooms - including three young children - for two nights. ||After a busy day of having fun, we were all very weary and the warm and friendly welcome was perfectly timed! ||The Old Rectory is small traditional british hotel. The rooms are pleasant and very clean, perhaps a little tired in places, but the beds were comfy, my six year old son slept like a log! ||Having very busy days, we ate in the hotel on both our nights staying, and the food was a real pleasant surprise! It was delicious, decent portions and lots of veggies. The children were all happy with the kids meals. On our second night, there was a wedding at the hotel, but we were still served a lovely meal in the dinning room. ||The dining room and the lounge are a little tired and old fashioned, but for us, with chlldren it didnt matter. The staff were all so very very friendly with the kids, and we had 3 lively boys, but the staff all made time to chat to them, make sure they had barbq sauce, found TV channels for them, and listened to stories about their days out!||Finally, what delicious breakfasts, we all enjoyed cooked breakfasts and the children were all super happy with their off menu hash browns and baked beans!||We wil definitely be back!
