We have just returned from a magical long weekend at the Old Deanery Cottages. What a treat to stay in a place where every comfort and necessity is catered for. Liz, our gorgeous hostess, was a mine of information. We got great suggestions for things to do and places to go (and there were many). A highlight for us was Lacken Strand which is so beautiful. It has to be seen to be believed. We will be back. Many thanks, Liz and Tony, for everything you did to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. More...

We are just back from a six day break in Killala staying at the Old Deanery Holiday Cottages. We stayed in cottage no 5 which has amazing views of Killala Bay. The location of these cottages in Killala are excellent you are just a few minutes walk from a number of small bars and 1 restaurant that served evening meals The Open Door 6-9 pm,there are also two coffee shops open during the day.Ballina is about 15-20 minutes drive away and we ate at Crockets Bar and Restaurant on the Quays just past the Ice house hotel, food here was very good.it was our first fime to Killala and this part of Mayo and we would definitely return there is so much to see in this area.On arrival at the cottage we were met by Liz the owner who gave us loads of info on the area and what to do she also left us some lovely brown soda bread and smoked salmon with a bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. There was an open fire in the livingroom and as much turf as we needed for our stay.It was a very homely cottage and also pet friendly and we will definitely return.
