As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Lana is uniquely trained to treat people within the context of their relationships. Lana's specialty and area of expertise is couples therapy. She is experienced in working with couples and has treated couples for a variety of concerns including sexual difficulties, affair recovery, perpetual conflictual interaction, parenting concerns, emotional intimacy, barriers to healthy communication and life-work balance.

A special area of expertise for Lana is Sex Therapy. Being trained through the Crucible Institute in working with sexual dysfunction and affair recovery, and currently undergoing the rigorous certification process through the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), Lana brings a level of competence to her work that is balanced with approachability and openness. Lana is trained to address and treat issues such as orgasmic difficulties, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, pain during intercourse, problems with desire, arousal and intimacy, and emotional connection during sex.

Additionally, Lana has developed a premarital program to help prepare couples for marriage through an engaging and effective method. She works with engaged couples and guides them through a premarital counseling program which addresses topics such as communication, conflict, connectedness, sex, finances, extended family relationships, boundaries, personality differences, spirituality, and future goals.

Lana is also experienced in working with individuals suffering from low self esteem whose lives have been affected in the areas of partner-relationships, friendships, careers, and parenting. Often these individuals experience anxiety, depression, and loneliness. Drawing from her training in Crucible Approach Therapy, Lana helps individuals tackle these difficulties by guiding them to cultivate the ability to stand on their own two feet, learn to validate themselves and develop a strength to tolerate healthy discomfort for personal and relational growth.

In addition to her psychology degree, Lana holds a Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary and is passionate about integrating psychology with spirituality. She is qualified and honored to work with individuals struggling with their spirituality and those questioning the role of God, or a higher power, in their lives.

Lana is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. She uses this mode of therapy to aid in her work with individuals. Hypnotherapy is useful in helping deepen and accelerate the therapeutic process and has been found helpful in alleviating pain, reducing stress and anxiety, processing and healing trauma, and recovering from addictive behaviors.
