Coaching with Mark Brown started over a year ago in late 2018.

I'd had one year in the motor trade, so in terms of processes and procedures I had learnt the ropes and had settled into the working pattern.

During that first year, I had had some fantastic months, the best and also some really bad months. I lacked consistency in Sales numbers and hitting Targets at the point when I met Mark I was "negged out"; a term often used in the Motor Trade. This term described my state of mind as negative, seeing the obvious ways things would fail and an assumptive attitude that assumed the outcomes of customer interactions would be negative and lead to disappointment. I was also heavily critical of my abilities and how 'good' I was.

During my first conversation with Mark, we went through the motions of how I was feeling. Speaking allowed and voicing those negative thoughts was incredibly helpful.
Mark stripped everything back, putting emotion aside and he started my journey with a survey to look at my strengths.
This process I describe as finding myself again. Once my strengths were uncovered we started to look at how my strengths worked within the work environment. Finding my strengths reminded me of my individuality which is somthing we forget when we work amongst large groups of people.
With his guidance we identified 3 areas I could make positive progress in using my strengths.
Empathy was one of my strengths; we looked at how I could use my ability to understand others emotions in a sales setting and how this could lead to more positive outcomes. This was particularly important during rapport building and objection handling.

Month on month we discussed the previous months focus and what had changed and then again looked at new areas.
Until slowly the negative mindset was put to one side and it became about the small incremental steps towards becoming a consistent sales person. During the year the consistency of my approach grew and Sales came with that. Rejection was no longer dwelled on I moved on quickly to the next opportunity to do business.

What worked so well for me was that Mark didn't suggest I do anything out of my comfort zone or anything I couldn't do. Everything was tailored to my strengths and me as an individual.
This support and coaching external to work enabled me to build confidence, consistency and a positive mental attitude and this in turn lead to a greater sales performance, greater income and a healthier mindset.

Mark's coaching tuned into my individual needs and strengths, his suggestions are collaborative and therefore made me feel supported and never pushed too far.

The effects of coaching have been life changing and enabled me to become more successful.

Before I used to tell myself I wasn't any good and couldn't sell now I tell myself how can I work harder, how can I work more effectively and I find myself asking.. what do I need to change? He has revolutionised my mentality.

I love the diverse range of people that I get to meet and work with. Particularly though I love to see people working it out for themselves and getting their success.

I enjoy seeing others succeed probably more than I enjoy succeeding myself.

It all happened by quickly and by chance.
