My cats and dogs have just returned from their second stay at the Hollies. They are all happy and as a pet owner that is the main thing when you leave your babies with someone else. When I dropped them off the staff were happy to let me settle especially my cats into their kennels which was reassuring, because they are a lot less happy being left with strangers. Pooch prison. The old torn up rags that are supposedly bedding not washed for a new dog unless they are extremely soiled. Even then sometimes not changed if it is an elderly dog that is then left sleeping on wet bedding . Kennels cleaned mostly with bleach which dogs and cats are stepping in (if they are lucky to be let inside during the day after sitting in their kennel despite website promising walks) dogs are left with no water on an evening as they may spill it and make a mess I worked here for 2 weeks and was just shocked and appauled at the conditions. Rather than comforting the distressed dogs, Tracey would bang on the kennel bars and shout at the dogs to shut up. We have been taking our dog to the Hollies for about 18 months, for stays ranging from a single night to a month. He is always pleased to see Tracey, the owner, which says everything to me. After viewing a more local kennels that I had booked my dog into and finding it to be unsuitable I was panicking that I wouldn't find anything that would live up to my standards! My friend told me about The Hollies and I phoned and asked if I could come and view before booking my dog in. The staff were lovely and so friendly, they were more than happy to show me around and everywhere looked fresh, extremely clean and each dog run was the same. None of these standard, executive and plush runs that I'd encountered in the other place. There are paddocks for the dogs to run in and they are exercised regularly. I was still apprehensive at taking Luna for the first time, purely because she was young and a complete idiot. However, my concerns were soon gone with reassurance from the staff and knowing how much experience the owners have with German Shepherds put my mind at ease. It is also a testament to the owners of The Hollies when you see the long line of dog owners picking up and dropping their dogs off, all with nothing but brilliant things to say.Luna has now had 3 stays at The Hollies and I've just booked her in for two more. Our 6 month old Lab had her first visit to The Hollies for a week as we spent the week away at Centre Parcs. The staff upon arrival were very friendly and put us at ease. Poppy was soon settled in and we didn't hear a peep from the kennels until we returned to pick her up. She had soon gotten used to being there, and taken to the place very well! I was always nervous about using kennels but have to say I have never looked back since my dogs started going to The Hollies. A lovely place and the most experienced and friendly owners of the establishment you can imagine. My dogs go mad with excitement when I drive down the lane and wag their tails and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. A great kennels that we have used for 12 years. Our dog Jess is always treated really well and comes home happy and has her coat well brushed. She is a Collie so when young was mad as a hatter but no probs. The price is very reasonable. They are flexible too. I recently got our holiday return date wrong and they were able to add the extra date we needed. Would have no hesitation in recommending. More...

It's quite clear that our dog loves his 'Hollies holidays'! As soon as we turn down the road he gets exited and when we get there jumps out of the car wagging his tail. .
