Only had drinks here, no food. They had a lovely jazz band playing in the next room. The drinks were good and not too expensive, but service could have been a little more prompt seeing as the place was empty, and they needn’t have included plastic straws in every drink.

Amazing little family run pub, with lovely food, I had the best steak pie and my mum had the lamb shank. It all tasted just home cooked!

Just begun having occasional band (last week called Chil, see Facebook page and pic) at the new pub hall extension. Great entertainment and good way to spend a late Sunday afternoon with retro music and dancing. Good choice of beers, friendly and helpful staff. Well worth a visit. More...

We had enjoyed a great birthday lunch yesterday at the Grey Horse Inn. The refurbishment makes this a really cosy place which has a real welcoming feel.
Jane and Paul are so lovely and gave great service. The food was lovely and freshly made. We enjoyed the chicken and haggis and battered fish. Puddings were lovely too! We will be back and are hoping to book for the Chinese night later this month.
Thank you Jane, Paul and your team. All the very best to you.

Traditional pub with many real beers on offer. It also has a Chinese restaurant attached, with the food being prepared by Paul the owner and I would highly recommend it.

If your looking for a warm atmosphere in pleasant surroundings and great food, we highly recommend the Grey Horse in Balerno. I must confess, their Chinese food is up there with the best in Edinburgh. Recently refurbished restaurant coupled with a rustic quaint Bar next door offering the best of both worlds. Good portions and very reasonably priced. EXCEPTIONAL, MUST TRY. More...

It is cosy, warm and welcoming on a chilly day. It is warm and welcoming on a hot day as it has a great beer garden. They do live music and have a sky tv for sport. I think it is old fashioned in a good way. More...

I had lunch at the new gastropub today and it was gorgeous. Chicken, mushroom and tarragon was the pie of the day with chunky chips - amazing.
Friends had the burger which looked fantastic and fish and chips went down well. Can't wait to try the other things.
The restaurant also looks great too.

Lovely place! Our waitress, Jane was pleasant and helpful! We only saw the bartender for a moment when she brought us water but she was delightful. The food was delicious. The mushrooms soup was creamy, chewy and flavorful. The piece of haddock was longer than the plate. Flaky crust with perfectly cooked fish that was just as good the last bite as the first. Soft scrumptious chips. The local Pentland hills IPA was smooth with a perfect bite to it and ahint of grapefruit. Go! Enjoy! You know you want to! More...
