It looks like a very basic pub but the lamb curry they serve was just delicious! Served in a fancy way and in a medium-sized portion, which is just right for lunch. Loved it!

We enjoyed an incredible meal at a decent price, surrounded by the happy locals. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, and we were made to feel fullly at home for the duration of our visit.

This pub/hotel has oodles of character and charm only surpassed by the warm welcome we got from the staff... easy parking, great location, lovely room, quaint pub, nice breakfast - excellent value - can’t wait to return.

Situated centre of town, a few minutes walk from the river.
Right next to a railway, but they stop running quite early – around 10. 30pm, so no problem.
Nice rooms, perfectly clean, decorated very nicely, comfortable bed, lovely people running it, no faults at all.
Breakfast just toast and cereal due to a local gas cut, so that wasn’t their fault and they gave a partial refund for that. Such nice people. I’d stay there again. More...

We came in for a wedding the George hotel is a wonderful place. The staff is very kind, gracious and welcoming. We stayed in room 29 witch is closer side to the rail tracks so during the day you hear the trains zipping by this didn't bother me but if you're a light sleeper it might.
