I've always loved this pub. Superb beer, good quality pub grub and fabulous old school atmosphere. It's not Michelin star, but that's what makes it so fabulous. Highly recommended.

A quirky pub with a comfortable interior and dining space which is separate to the bar, the staff were friendly as well. Small selection of meals available which are reasonably priced, and a good selection of drinks. The food was nothing special, but considering the price there was equally nothing to complain about. We stopped off here on Thursday on our way to a weekend break up in Wirksworth. We had a lovely lunch, I had the chilli and rice and my wife had the Bacon and Brie panini both very nice indeed and as for the portion of chips in a basket they were delicious. The pint I had was fantastic too from Great Oakley brewery, and I will be checking out more of there beers in the future Had a chat with a few people as well as our greyhound was getting a bit of fuss from them, and the girl who served us behind the bar was very friendly. All in all a perfect little pit stop and would definitely stop here again. Wished I lived closer! More...
