Located in a quiet out of the way village it was a great base, just 20 minutes from Ross-on-Wye. We ate at the Inn each evening and the food was excellent value for money. There wasn't a menu for breakfast, as Ash would cook whatever you requested. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Our room, Sun, was really large; entrance hallway, large bathroom and large bedroom. Out of the 3 nights we stayed a live band played on 2 nights. ||Further information:|- 4G limited in the Inn|- the Inn's wifi worked near the entrance door but not in bed|- steep steps to rooms in the main building (there is a self catering place, but we didn't see it)|- water cuts out in bathroom occasionally, so you just need to be patient||If the pub/bar gets busy, such as when the village Dog Show and Fun Day is happening, the restaurant service can get neglected. Do what I did; go to the bar and order the next course and drinks. :) More...

Visited here twice during a 4 night stay in Broad Oak. Lovely pub, friendly staff. Enjoyed curry night on the Tuesday - fantastic curries! Second time around we had the ribeye steak and my wife and I agreed we'd never had such a delicious cut. I can recommend the Butty Bach ale too! More...

We went to the forge and stayed here for two nights. We had the "sun" room which was amazing. It had a huge bathroom which was very clean and rustic, a small landing and the bedroom was perfect with a lovely view over the common. ||||the owners "Ash & Andrezza" where such nice people and clearly put alot of time and effort into the place. ||||One of the great things was the full English breakfast. you do get cereal to start which my partner had, however i prefer a big breakfast. The full English was very impressive and it's perfect for a busy day in the forge or long walks in the area. I loved how warm and friendly the staff here are, we stayed in the apartment, which was perfect. I only wished I booked longer! The owners are very welcoming. The breakfast was perfect! They do a curry night which is on a Tuesday (make sure you stay on this day) as if was by far the best we've had! We stayed overnight here and enjoyed our stay very much. The location is so pretty and the inn is historic and comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They seem a bit short staffed but everyone was very willing. Our room, while not huge, was very comfortable and well furnished. The bed was comfortable, good bedding, the bathroom was lovely and very well equipped with lovely fixtures and products. I must also highlight how immaculately clean the whole place was. Very very good. The loos down in the inn were also immaculate. Breakfast was very good. Particularly good bacon and sausages. Very good quality. What let it down was the dinner and the lunch. We stayed on a Tuesday night which was curry night and the only choice. We really like curry but this was disappointing. Our starters: salt and pepper squid and pakoras were lukewarm, pretty cold. The curry was not very tasty or spiced. The pilau rice was ordinary rice with a few peas in it. At least it was very warm!! Finally we both ordered affogato for dessert. Affogato is a scoop of vanilla ice cream, with a shot of hot, strong espresso poured over the top. This was a scoop of vanilla ice cream sitting in a glass of cold coffee. Not so nice. The meal wasn't bad but it was mediocre. Lunch - 2 burgers with chips was just quite horrible. The burgers had an odd taste, almost metallic and the green salad put inside the bun had gone slimey and "cooked". So, I would definitely stay at the Garway Moon again if we were in the area but other than the breakfast, I would really hesitate to eat there again. More...

Went on a Saturday night which was quite quiet and ordered but the order had not been put through so took 50 mins for the food to arrive. Had fish and chips which was great and they were very apologetic and gave us free drinks and puddings. Limited menu but good food More...
