The tea service was delicious and voluminous, many savory and sweet delights which kept us very full. Anna provided very personalized service in her house and even offered extra sandwiches if we were still hungry (we were not). The house itself was filled with ornate antiques, and Anna offered us children's and guidebooks with pictures that she has personally authored to view during the meal which tell a bit about castle Combe and its history. Very quiet and quaint tea room. We loved it and highly recommend! MUST prebook, which can be done via email. More...

My wife and I first stumbled onto this tea room - Thanksgiving day, 2011. It was early afternoon and we stumbled across the "tea room" sign as we were walking down the main street in Castle Combe. We rang the bell and Anna immediately welcomed us in. The tea room is in the main level of their home - a delightful old rectory. We felt welcome immediately! Anna had a warm fire in the fire place and we chose a spot on the couch next to the fire. Soon we had hot tea, the best scones we have ever had - with lots of Cornish clotted cream - as well as ginger cake. We could not believe how good the food was - and just how nice it felt to be in such an authentic building having home made scones and ginger cake. When we complemented Anna on the ginger cake she offered to share the recipe with us! It was such a warm and memorable experience that last week - five years later, we chose to return to Castle Combe, spend the night at the Manor House hotel next door and go by and see Anna again the following day. We stopped by the tea shop the next day and noticed Anna had added a little gift shop with tea cups and novelty tea and small decorations. Sadly, the shop and tea room was closed and we had to continue our trip - so unfortunately we weren't able to stop for tea and see Anna. I found her website online and sent her a quick note that we would love to purchase a small tea cup from her shop that we could use as a Christmas ornament. We collect little pieces of memorabilia from our favorite travel experiences. I asked if there was anyway we could purchase a little tea cup for our little girls to hang on our tree - over the phone and have it shipped to us before we left for the US in a few days. I got the nicest response back from Anna saying that she regretted not being open when we came by, and that she had found a small tea cup, packaged it up and sent it express mail to us so that we would have it before we flew back. We were so touched! I doubt she could remember us from five years ago - so as near strangers, she took the initiative to do that for us - and on top of it, wouldn't accept payment! I have lived in the UK for years when I was younger, and feel particularly fond of the British - but was simply blown away that Anna would go to all the trouble from a simple email. When I told our girls the story they thought we should leave the tea cup out all year to remind us each day to do something kind for someone else. Anyway, I'm sure if you are lucky enough to go to Castle Combe and stop in the Tea Room - you will be well taken care of. You may want to call, text, or email ahead to see what the hours are before you go. More...

I can't recommend this place high enough. I am 45 years old and I thought I would treat myself to some nice photographs so I can have something to look back on when I get old. I have always considered myself not to be very photogenic but I had heard from a friend how great Anna the photographer was, so I thought I would give it a go. On arriving at the studio which is in such a beautiful place in Castle Coombe, Anna sat me down and asked me what exactly what I wanted from the shoot and really made me feel at ease. The few hours I was there was great fun and I have never felt so relaxed in front of the camera, Anna was so easy to chat to and I had a great time. When I actually saw the photographs what had been taken I was speechless, I looked amazing and I couldn't wait to show my family and friends. I honestly can't rate this experience high enough and I would happily show anyone the photos if in doubt. More...

We had great fun and the girls looked amazing in all my totally over the top hats!. Ruben was more interested in the guinea pig though and we did get some lovely shots of him. Hope you'll come back with the whole family sometime and the dog and we can do an outdoor shoot for you. Many thanks once again. Anna

Hi Charlaine, I'm so pleased you liked your family photo shoot. I know we only managed to squeeze in a few of you on your own at the end of your session, but I'm really excited and looking forward to doing you on your own hopefully during half term. You are going to look quite stunning and I have so many lovely outfits for you to pose in. Thank you also for your lovely review and editorial piece on Families Online. I had some photos done at the Garbo studio, it was a great experience. Anna was really informative and passionate about the style of photos she takes. She has a grandma's attic style photo studio, packed full of vintage hats, costume jewellery and furs and outfits. Im not a natural poser suiting that era but Anna was great in showing me poses and put me at ease....I have some stunning pictures that I will proudly display for years. I highly recommend this for you if you fancy having some photos done and want them that little bit different. Thank you Anna x More...

Fabulous tearoom in the most beautiful village of Castle Coombe. I was recommended this place by a friend of mine who had visited a while ago. We booked for high tea for a group of six people as a treat for my mothers 60th birthday and we had a lovely afternoon. I have been to quite a few places for high tea and this was definitely one of my favourites. Everything was so fresh and plentiful with home made scones to die for.. The setting is just beautiful, so much character in one space. The lady who owns the tearoom Anna was lovely and really did go all out to make sure my mother had a fantastic afternoon. I would definitely recommend this place if you were to visit one of the prettiest villages in England. More...

I visited today with a good friend of mine and we had a cream tea. Probably one of the best we've ever tasted. Anna, the owner also told us that you could hire the tearoom for a private party and she was a photographer and offered photo-shoot parties.
