John from SSAFA was helpful and great to chat with, Tony did a great job with mounting my father's medals, thank you Tony!
Ery interesting. Great food and drinks.
A few good men have visited here to view the armies of the past, present. Bury in itself is a place of History, the museum is a must visit place as is the steam railway.
Good place to sit and smoke a doob in bury
A really good small museum, interesting, accessible and the staff are friendly and helpful. I recommend parking at Tesco at Woodfield Retail Park on Angeloume Way and walking to the museum: cross the dual carriageway, take the footpath to the right past the Parish Church, forward, keeping The Robert Peel pub on your right, go straight ahead on to Silver Street (HSBC will be on your left as you cross the road). Enjoy
Well worth a look round the museum.
Terrific testament to the sacrifice and hard work of the Fusiliers. We attended a wedding which was organised perfectly. The team were exceptional at what they do. More...
You've just got to go! From the ground floor 'situations' to the top floor medals and clothing, you just must go. Every ticket purchased is an annual pass!
Great museum that is a must see when in town. Of interest to military history buffs and to those with a general interest in local history. Well laid out, it also has an on site cafe. More...

Brilliant museum with informative and imaginative displays, gift shop with a unique range of gifts and lovely cafe. We can highly recommend this museum to families and anyone with an interest in local history and Lancashire military.
Remembering the life and times of those Lancashire folk who gave so much to the benefit of today.
My husband and I visited 15-12-18. Lovely and interesting museum. We visited the café too. All the staff we met were helpful and very friendly. Hope to visit again.
everything and certainly the staff be it the girls in the cafe or the ladies on the reception and certainly our guide Mr Steve Fitt, just a great display of the 18 VCs won by the Lancashire Fusiliers in WW1. It should be on all schools curriculum to visit and marvel at the given explanations of how they the VCs were won. More...
i visited to view the 18 for 18 exhibition and was greatly impressed.the whole museum, it's displays etc are very informative. the staff all welcoming, cheerful and helpful. My only negative is that modern trend of placing medal displays into drawers, personally i like to see them hung in cabinets, A museum everyone can be proud of. More...
An excellent Museum for the Fusiliers
left my glove in the ladies and they keep it until i returned for it wonderful helpful staff
I visited The fusiliers on 1.11.18 for a awards function with six town housing. The building is beautiful, clean I didn’t get much time to look round, except the shop, well stocked, displays and all at a reasonable price. The staff were all very helpful, friendly and all smiled. The food we had at the awards, mixed sandwiches and cake again, displayed on platters, very good variation, as much tea/coffee/ juice as you wanted. I would definitely recommend or a venue/function. I will be calling back at my leisure to have a look round, I believe the cafe is very nice, can’t wait to call in again very soon. More...

Great local history museum
Great thing to do for the day. The VC displays and quartermaster's room are an absolute MUST. Get there from Piccadilly by tram,it's a nice ride. The staff are friendly, and the book selection in the museum shop is really good. (Be sure to check the display just opposite the counter for crazy deals). Ticket is just five pounds and gives you access for a year,so it's a no-brainer. Also, they have kids' area with books and things to try on,among other activities. More...

Ideal for school visits
Brilliant displays and very informative.
Attended a wedding last night 17/3/18. Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Helen and her team were outstanding.
Friendly place, worth popping in
A great little museum to follow the history of an English Military Division. Lots of artwork, weapons and uniforms from the most recent combat and peacekeeping missions, to the very distant past. As an Americian visiting the area I found it well worth the very small fee and time to enjoy some English history. More...
I went to visit this museum yesterday. I found it very interesting. It's a source of information about the British army history and very cheap. Staff was very polite. Also, when you pay for your ticket, you can come back whenever you prefer. It's very good indeed. More...
Fantastic museum tucked away in Bury. Great military exhibits well displayed. Great for an afternoon out.
Got a bargain from the shop, love my items. Nice to get first hand information from Paul Dalton. Top bloke and all round nice man.
Wery interesting museum!
We took a group of seventeen year eight pupils to the museum today. They have been studying war poetry and we wanted them to hear and read about some real life stories. We cannot praise the staff at the museum highly enough. The pupils were treated to a fascinating talk about life in the trenches. This was really interactive and is something they will remember for a very long time. A special thanks to Paul here for enthralling our children. We had a fantastic time today and would like to thank everyone involved for making it so memorable. Mrs Lynch and Mr Dalton (St. Monica's RC High School, Prestwich) More...
The staff were lovely. My partner certainly enjoyed it, as did I. Very interesting and highly recommend from us both. Thank you!
We had our wedding reception here in October 17. Everything was perfect from the very first enquiry. On the day all the staff were amazing. The food at the taster and on the day was excellent with lots of compliments from our guests. The building is a hidden gem in Bury with amazing features for your photos and a girgeous function room that is a blank canvas for you to personalise. Special thanks to Helen for all her support and advice. Helen was brilliant from the first enquiry right through to the end of the reception. Wendy and her catering team were amazing. Everyone working here is genuinely lovely and have all been a pleasure to plan our special day with. We would highly recommend the museum as a venue for your big day. More...

Had a good day out with excellent friends and brothers from other mothers. I would also like to thank the people that organised the event.
My dad was a Fusilier in the 50's and has been close to our family's hearts all of our lives. Sadly now passed we do visit the museum and attend parades and brings us nothing but joy and pride.
Keeps history alive
Great staff lovely food. Car parking is limited though.
Amazing. I was not expecting to see such a great museum, with so much to offer. We didn't have enough time to cover it all. My kids want to go back but making sure we have a few hours to go around with the interaction book, etc. More...

Very helpful with my search for information on a WW1 relative. Thanks to the ladies on reception and Phil Mather.
Worth every bit
A great museum that has loads of artefacts and activities for children. Reading the letters of the families affected by the loss of a loved one was quite difficult as it brought home how hard the separation and lack of news was. The cafe is excellent with some lovely cakes and a range of other food too. We are looking forward to returning as the entry ticket is valid for a year! More...
Very professional lovely staff and the food was excellent the home made broth was fantastic
We were there for a wedding. Well laid out and the decoration was wonderful. The staff were fantastic. Excellent day in great surroundings
As a military historian , amateur, I found the displays and stories of my local regiment both sad and heart wrenching but filled me with pride.I went to see the exhibition of the 6 VC'S on display and the bravery of those men. I shed a tear that day.I would recommend to anyone to visit the museum. More...
Great bacon butties n coffee go with my friend chat time x
Lovely building. Great venue for the Wille and the Bandits gig. We had a really good evening and look forward to the next time.
This is a well laid out museum with very friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff. A couple of the exhibits could be better labelled - for visitors with limited knowledge (like myself) it wasn't clear on all of them exactly what they were but this is to quibble. I spent a very interesting and enjoyable morning there. More...
Well laid out and informative exhibitions that managed to cater for both adults and children... The special exhibition room set out as an Officers Mess with the room and table set out ready for a Regimental function was brilliant...

Lovely set out museum with lots to do for kids and lots to learn for adults too. Had a great time taking my 5 year old son and he enjoyed himself too.
Attended the Breastfeeding Network conference here. Lovely venue, helpful staff and a surprising jewel in Bury!

What a lovely well laid and out informative museum! The staff were wonderfully friendly evem if we were from the wrong side of the Pennines lol!
Amazing venue and fabulous staff. Our wedding reception was fantastic
A lot of museums are known for being somewhat olde worlde and somewhat drab in their appearance. Sometimes even the exhibits and some of the staff fall into that description. My visit to the Fusilier Museum was quite the contrary. Stepping through the entrance door was like entering into a bright mini mart.A profusion of items that were for sale, were displayed to their best advantage. Modern shelving was fixed to the walls and free standing book cases were neatly arranged about the floor space, All of which were filled with tempting goods. Books of different shapes, sizes and colours were begging to be read. Each telling their own story of various wars that the Fusiliers had been involved in over the years. There were games and toys for the children to buy. Shopping bags, mugs, pens and all the usual souvenir items were to be had.A short distance away was the reception desk, looking like one that might be seen in a four star hotel. A pleasant lady was on duty to answer my query. Public toilets were in easy reach of the desk. They were spacious and clean and there was wheel chair access to one of them. The museum proper is on the same level and once again provides easy access for wheel chair users. The exhibits are bright and well displayed. The lighting is tasteful and efficient. The Fusilier story is told in chronological order, with life size mannequins wearing full military uniforms and each playing their part.Presently being displayed, as part of the Centenary celebrations for the First World War, are five Victoria Crosses that were all won 'before breakfast' on the one day.Following a most enjoyable and educational tour of the museum I returned to the reception area where there is a lift. A restaurant is situated one floor up which is modern and spacious. I noticed salad dishes were being consumed by the lady visitors, possibly getting in trim for the coming summer weeks. As for myself, I made do with a pot of tea and a scone with butter. Unlike the weak tasting tea that tends to be sold at public places, this one was strong. Perhaps it was the military influence that made it so.Staff members were on duty to answer questions and to deal with any problems. I put them through their paces with my many questions and I have to say they graduated with flying colours. I really think Bury's Fusilier Museum has got a winning formula. Good gifts; good exhibits; good presentation and above all Good Staff. More...
I would 100% recommend the Fusilier Museum for an event or 'Do'! Great building, beautiful room, lovely staff and fantastic exhibits! What more could you want?!
A very enjoyable visit. Reading about the six VCs before breakfast was sobering, but was surprised that there was no evident information about the other 5 VCs on permanant display in the next room. Only down side was no on site car parking - but it is a city centre after all. More...
Seeing " the 6 VC's before breakfast " is something I'll never forget, brilliant museum and I'll be returning very soon
