A friend and I often have breakfast here and it is always magnificent. We both normally have scrambled egg bacon tomato mushrooms toast and hot chocolate to drink and that normally comes out around about £15 for the two which is exceptionally good value for the quality and quantity. but be warned the chef makes the scrambled egg with cream so it is not slimming but delicious!!! Just been here for a breakfast. This place is amazing. The food is great and very (and I mean very) reasonably priced. The spuds we had (pictured) are £6 each. There was plenty on the plate and I left very full. The cafe itself is sparkling clean, very quiet, nice music and very helpful staff. Not much in the way of gluten free options but plenty to choose from if you're not in the mood for bakery. We will definitely be visiting again.... More...

I held my 50th birthday party here last weekend and cannot recommend the main Shakespere hall enough for a party. People (even locals) did not know about Heene and were astounded on how fantastic you can make the hall (I think people were expecting a grotty small old fashioned hall) but with all the tables up, balloons, lights and disco ball going it was fabulous. I had around 105 people and 11 tables with 8 - 10 round each one and the DJ at the end, tea lights all around - perfect! Jo the centre manager could not have been more helpful when booking and the hire fee is so reasonable compared to the local hotels. I was lucky enough to be able to have Kevin from the on site cafe - Cafe One22 to do the catering - which was more than amazing (see the Cafe One22 facebook page for more info on this) so if you are hiring a room at the centre and need catering I would not hesitate to hire them at the same time as booking the hall. Do not discount Heene Community Centre for your event...go and see it you will be pleasantly surprised!! More...

I regularly hire rooms at Heene Community to run afterschool clubs, and it's been a joy to use the venue!
All the staff are brilliant, the rooms are spacious and light, free WiFi, great cafe, free parking.
.. plus the hire rates are fantastic.
Would highly recommend to any small businesses or private groups looking for rooms to hire.

Always seems very busy and buzzing. The café offers a limited choice of food but the quality and quantity is excellent. The only downside is that the seating area is not very big and gets very busy. Not surprisingly!

If you have never eaten at café one22 please give it a go! Kevin cooks all his own food & cakes.
I have never known anyone to bake cakes as good as my dear Nan but he isn't a million miles away!
!
You MUST give it a try as well as the different activities going on, for adults & children!
