Make your family weekend a wonderful one at The Ferry Inn pub and restaurant in Tenterden!
Welcome to The Ferry Inn. Located in the heart of the Isle of Oxney near Rye, we are a traditional, yet modern country inn situated just a couple of miles from the coast. We serve our customers with only the very best and freshest food, drinks and recreation. Our home cooked meals are created using local produce and the freshest fruits and vegetables grown in our very own veg patch.
If you are unsure about what to drink with your meal, then have a look at The Ferry Inn wine and beer lists. We have an exotic range of wines and beers that come from as far afield as Argentina to as local as 5 minutes down the road!
Service was outstanding-warm hearty welcome - buzzy atmosphere for such a remote / in the middle of nowhere pub - a complete gem......go there!!!!

Nice setting but was charged £2.30 for a hot chocolate which was basically four teaspoons of Cadbury tinned powder half stirred into luke warm milk so there was lumps floating around in it. Not likely to visit again.
Such a lovely place to be after a busy day enjoying a bottle of wine and enjoying some seafood watching the sun go down nothing better we enjoy more
Sat in the beer garden by the river on a spring evening, only people in the garden, so quite could have been sitting in the middle of nowhere. Bloody lovely evening.
Amazing service as they kept the kitchen open for my Mum's Birthday Lunch. The food was as amazing as the service and great host. Thank you so much for going the extra mile for us. 'We will be back!' X More...

The food is incredible, the place is beautiful, especially on a hot summers day :) can not fault this place!
What a find! We were looking for somewhere in the area showing the Lions match and didn't expect to be so charmed. Friendly and relaxed with a lovely breakfast served at half time. Good dog-walking country. Will need to go back at a more sensible time to try the beer and sample the usual menu. More...

We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals ~ scallops as starters, pork medallions, plaice and Guinea fowl. All accompanied with perfectly cooked vegetables. The treacle tart was also amazing as was the great selection of cheeses. Excellent wine selection. We sat in the bar area with fantastic hops around the bar, windows et al. We would highly recommend the Ferry Inn. More...

Arrived today at 12.45 with no booking and reasonably advised it would be 40 mins before kitchen could accommodate us. Fine - completely understand that. However we sat and ordered at 1.45 waited for our starter about half hour. the finished plates were not cleared. Main course eventually arrived after 2 requests for updates at 3.15 an hour and a half after ordering. beyond slow with no enquiry as to whether food was OK or apology for delay. Couple in corner also complained about a 2 hour delay for meal. Not a good experience and unlikely to travel out again More...

I would never eat here again .. It was our first time visiting and they very slow, we spent three and a half hours waiting for our courses. Not to mention the food was poor and there wasn't a lot to choose from. There was no children's menu and the dessert that my daughter was off and when I complained they came back and said that the smell was the vanilla essence. Which it wasn't. However they still charged me full price for it although my daughter hadn't even eaten it. The total bill came to £189 so it's not like I was trying to get a free meal. The staff had bad attitudes and I wouldn't waste my money here again. More...
It's so beautiful here. We only popped in for a quick half and a bowl of chips (which were lovely). Will definitely be returning.
We took a group of 10 people here on a guided bike ride for lunch . I've never eaten here before but was blown away by the food it looked and tasted Fabulous. Our clients loved it and the service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely make this a regular stop for our tours. More...
Have been going to the Ferry Inn for the last ten years ! Always a warm welcome, great atmosphere and great food
Set in a beautiful area, however, not much choice for vegetarians, expensive, fish and chips soggy and greasy. Worst of all the condiment pots were all filthy, nearly empty and almost all the vinegar dispensers had flies floating in them
