We came here for our yearly eye exams. They had misplaced the second appointment but luckily for us, they queezed us in. From the outside the place looks run down and ugly. However, once you walk in and the waiting room its totally different.  As you walk in, you see a c shaped receptionist area. Here they check you in. To the left is the glasses and sunglass frames and the people who measure and write up the order. We had the pleasure of having VICKY help us. Vicky is amazing. Ask for her if you are buying glasses. Not sure about anyone else but she is AMAZING.To the right is the second waiting room to see the doctor.  Once inside, you realize that the place is HUGE. I was taken to the front to the very back. The front examination rooms were more modern. The ones in the back looked like they were from the 70s. Some rooms were tiny, and others were normal sizeRegardless, everyone there was nice. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Amanda Nanasy and The Eye Center! Appointments stay on time and we were so impressed by how thorough our exam was-What a wonderful experience! ! Dr Nansy even saw our one year old son for his first eye examination and had the most amazing patience with him and again I was impressed with how comprehensive her exam was-who knew there was so much she could examine on even the youngest and squirmiest of patients! Dr. Olivares was the best. She really took the time to explain and discuss my reason for being there. You can tell the difference between people who work to work and people who work because they love what they do! Dr. Olivares is the latter. :)

I recently had an eye emergency. I immediately called The Eye Center and they got me in quickly with Dr. Richard Davis. After tests, he diagnosed me with a torn retina in my left eye. At that point, Dr. Davis quickly and personally set me up for surgery at the FT Lauderdale Eye Institute in order to immediately correct the problem. That afternoon, I was in surgery and it was successfully completed. I am currently recovering well.  I am forever indebted to Dr. Davis for his commendable skill and personal attention. This center came highly recommended from my insurance VSP as a preferred provider. I made an appt easily on the phone, arrived 10 minutes early to fill out usual new patient paperwork. After the computerized tests and scary puff in eye test the optometrist Dr. Semel saw me immediately. He's a very no BS kind of guy - which I appreciate. He quickly determined my prescription and I was on my way to selecting frames with the optician. The office staff were all very cordial and professional. My glasses were completed in about 2 weeks with a one week delay coming from my insurance company that requires all lenses be tested to ensure prescription is correct. Will be visiting every year until I finally decide to take the plunge and get LASIK! More...

I've had nothing but positive experiences both times I've been here. I'm called in quickly (even when I was 15 minutes late to my last appt). I'm also always impressed with how they seem to have the latest and greatest technology in optometry. My last optometrist must have had a lot of the more old school setups because I hated going to the eye doctor. All the tests would freak me out. Coming here, it's a breeze! Nothing painful, everything is quick. Dr. Olivares is who I see and she's the best! She's the first person that finally got me to try contacts after being terrified of them for almost 32 years. This is the best place for complete eye care. I started 30 plus years ago with Dr Morris and now for the last several years I have been a patient of Dr Stephanie Davis. I am so thrilled to be a client there....I don't go anywhere else....I have the best. Belinda has taken care of my optical needs and is the best in her field. The doctors are excellent. The service is perfect. I find the complaints are related to cost.  I find the costs to be equivalent to other places that I used. I had my first appointment yesterday with Dr. Semel. He was thorough and I felt comfortable with his exam. He offered me the new imaging procedure where they don't need to dilate your eyes, for an additional $50. I chose not to spend the extra money. After my routine exam, he found something on my retina. He said he wanted to see my retina more clearly and gave me the imaging procedure at no charge just to be thorough. That's a good doctor. Thank you! More...

I visited The Eye Center for the first time today & was seen by Dr. Olivares.  She was incredibly thorough & knowledgable. My main issue was my discomfort with contacts.  She didn't just give me a pair of contacts to take home, she gave me different options to try on to see which one was the most comfortable.  I usually can't handle wearing contact lenses for more than an hour or so, but I'm going on hour 4 with the pair she gave me and I'm having no issues.  She is an excellent Dr. and I would most definitely recommend her. My son has been seeing Dr. Amanda Nanasy  for three years now and she's the absolute best! Very good with kids! She's very professional, answers all your questions. The staff here as well is very professional and are knowledgable in regards to insurance related questions and if you need a call back to verify your insurance they are the best! The only reason I didn't give this place five stars is because the wait time can sometimes get to you. But if a place is busy that means it's an excellent establishment! So I don't mind the wait as long as my son is getting the best service. Also their glasses are in the higher end. This year my son was able to get some decent frames with his insurance still paid 200 for the frames. Last year I got the prescription and took them to target and paid 120 and target has a better policy on broken frames, kids are kids! I think next time I'll try target again! More...

I have been going to The Eye Center for over 20 years.  I ran into a few glitches when Dr. Morris retired as the doctor who took over his practice was not as knowledgeable in the area of gas permeable contact lenses.  I decided to give Dr. Nguyen a try before going somewhere else. I am glad that I did because she is an excellent doctor.  She is very knowledgeable and explains everything she is doing during the examination.  Dr. Nguyen is also very friendly and personable.The phones are staffed with friendly personnel and I love the fact that they answer your call immediately. The front desk staff is very friendly and welcoming. When it comes to selecting the perfect pair of glasses, Belinda is awesome.  Her suggestions for frames have helped me get outside my "comfort zone" and I am always pleased with the outcome! More...

Great place. I went there to get a full eye exam for contact lenses and the service was excellent. Saw the doctor clean all the machines before I used them. He explanied to me each test he was performing. Very nice front desk staff. Everyone was very friendly, even the patients waiting in the waiting room. I have been a patient at the Eye Center for about 10 years, and it has always been a very pleasant experience.  It's great to see local businesses still around instead of going to a chain.  The staff is exceptional from the front desk to the tech to the doctor and on to picking out glasses with the staff.  Dr. Davis is the best!  I am kind of a challenging contact lens patient, but Dr. Davis has always taken the time to make sure my vision is great as well as the comfort.  I have always been impressed by all the latest technology in the office.  For the exceptional service and peace of mind knowing that I had a great, complete exam, it is a value to me.  I highly recommend going here for anyone who wants the best vision and wants to take the best care of their eyes. I like this office very much simply because they have excellent doctors who take their time with you, especially when it comes to testing and explaining all that they are doing.  They have helped me with my vision problems big time.  However, the lack of the fifth star has a lot to do with pricing on the eyeglasses.  They are a bit pricey, but the selection is excellent.  You're not going to find what they have in Target for sure.  I am not crazy about it, but I will pay a little more for what I think is quality. This is the place I have been going to for the last three years. The staff is great and the doctors are awesome! What I don't like at times is that they are a little pushy at times when it comes to buying a pair of glasses. Beware of the prices. Saturday hours, all doctors are very good. The Florida Institute for Sports Vision is a part of this practice and they work with professional athletes including the Miami Dolphins.
