Richard is an extremely knowledgeable Attorney in dealing with my very difficult, sensitive issues. I've recently been diagnosed with dementia (I'm only 59 y. o.). Richard's proactive long-term care planning has put me in a position to protect my assets and qualify for Medi-Cal should I require nursing home care. Richard's counsel has helped me with difficult family dynamics that but for his intervention, would have been tough to overcome. We are so grateful for Richard Seff, as he 'saved the day' for us! My father forgot to change title on his house to his trust before he passed away, and when we sold his house after he passed, we were told that we would have to go through probate. I found Richard on Yelp, and met with him, and was so relieved when he told me that it was my dad's 'intent' to have the house in his trust (yes, it was added into it), but that he had failed to do that last step of changing title. He filed a Heggstad Petition with the court, and it was completed...and we were able to close escrow! Richard went above and beyond with the details of pushing this through, even filing a couple of Declarations of Urgency, so that we wouldn't lose our buyers due to the delay. Call Richard if you want Estate Planning! I needed a Living Trust and after looking at different attorneys for sometime decided to give him a call. While talking on the phone I knew this is who I was going to go with and set an appointment. He patiently walked me thru everything and was careful to be sure I understood each detail. Richard was my and my husband's first foray into estate planning.  Not only did he explain everything as clear as could be, but he also gave us very good advice for us to structure our trust, how to choose caregivers for our children, and how to basically answer questions that we do not really want to think about! My wife and I decided to get a Living Trust and I decided the cheapest way was online. Not a good idea. If there is a problem with an online Living Trust, you have no one to turn to. I ask people I knew about a Living Trust and they said I would be insane to do it online. I was introduced to Richard by my financial adviser. He was extremely thorough, patient and knowledgeable about what my wife and I needed. I have children apart from my wife's children and his advice helped us through the difficult parts of having a combined family. He also played referee at times(ha) I could have never gotten this kind of help doing this online. Richard Seff was my mother's Estate Planning Attorney and he prepared my mother's Living Trust.  Through my mother's illness that she suffered from a severe stroke several years ago, taking care of her, family and business affairs was quite challenging.  Were it not for Richard's assistance in establishing my mother's Living Trust, I am convinced that it would have been a full time task to manage her affairs.  But most of the sensitive matters have been prearranged in the Living Trust that it made my job so much easier in handling my mother's estate.  Everything was laid out well and Richard made himself readily available every occasion I needed help.  My mother's recent passing was very overwhelming still for me and my family because my mother was considered as the matriarch of the family.  But as a co-trustee, the Living Trust made it so much easier to deal with our lost.I highly recommend Richard Seff as an Estate Planner.  He's down to earth, easy to speak to and he's quite dedicated in his profession and its entire purpose of helping families.  I wish there were more lawyers like him.
