The Dog Play & Learning Centre

I have taken my puppy to the puppy training classes and now the adolescent classes now that he is older. Lisa is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate when it comes to working with and understanding dogs. The classes are great to practice new learning techniques, discuss any issues you may currently be having with your pup and you are given more than enough theoretical content from either handouts at the classes or emails/links to videos with even more information. I have also recently taken my dog to the play days that the Dog Play Centre offer. What a difference I have noticed already in terms of him being much more calm and relaxed (what dog wouldn’t after spending 2 full days a week running around playing with easily over 20-30 other dogs. ) He is learning a lot from the other dogs with regards to how to behave and acceptable levels of playing. We take our dog twice a week, on his off-days he is so much more relaxed and worn out essentially. This is great for not feeling anxious about leaving him during any working hours. They offer a pick up and drop off service too which is ideal especially if you do not work from home. It's gotten to a stage now that my dog is more excited to see the Dog Play Centre van pulling into our street than me coming home from work-- obviously means he's having the time of his life up there. The puppy classes were so informative and I’ve learnt so much from them. Not just training techniques but understanding puppy behaviour. It’s not just the puppy classes, Lisa always asks everyone individually if they have any concerns or questions at the start of every class. We’ve just completed the Adolescent Training classes with our 1 year old Staffie Nala. The classes cover a range of really useful topics and guidance to help the dog and owner develop the best possible relationship and behaviours. Our pup is very vocal and can be disruptive but this was managed really well. Lisa and the guys at Dog Play Centre were awesome with our pup when we were visiting Edinburgh. Nothing was too much effort and Maya had a great day playing with the other dogs. Highly recommended! Thank you!

We send our dog Ollie here once or twice a week on busy work days. I can't state enough how amazing the Dog Play Centre is with Ollie, and I have such peace of mind when he's there and know he's having a great day. He gets so excited when he spots the van. He has a really great day there every time and comes home tired and happy. They're really good at getting to know your pup and the best options for socialising with their other dogs. They have an indoor and outdoor area with fun things like ball pits, couches, a trampoline and a sensory garden etc. More...

I've had one to one sessions with my puppy that are great! so helpfull and informative. a great guide! we turned up early for our session and we where allowed to sit in the field with both of our dogs and the loved it!

Nice big secure centre and always have a nice selection of friendly people with nice friendly dogs. A good car park with adequate parking facilities.

Cannot recommend this place enough! Brodie loves going to daycare...he gets super excited when he sees the van stop outside the house when they come to pick him up! ! We have had pictures and videos of him playing with the other dogs and having a blast. I know he is extremely well looked after and everyone working there loves their job. Amazing place my dog loves it there and all the staff are trained to the highest standard and very welcoming...Baxter couldn’t wait to go there I can’t recommend it enough. ...when home he slept the whole evening dreaming of all the fun he had that day and best of all he was washed before he came home so no muddy doggy....lots of fun to be had here for dogs of all shapes and sizes great for socialisation...Baxter could be a bit timid at times but being at dog play has given him more confidence. Used the freedom field for the first time today and Sparky (a very hyper border collie) loved it! He can be reactive and has poor recall as he is a chaser and I'll admit i was slightly apprehensive about the field being Sparky-proof before I got there but it is completely secure, both sections are huge and there is plenty of bits and bobs for dogs to play on - even though Sparks just wanted to chase his ball. An excellent facility all round. I even managed a bit of training as there were no distractions and I didnt need to worry about other people whilst he was off the lead. More...

Can’t praise Lisa and her team highly enough for the care and attention they give the dogs in their day care. My dog absolutely loves it and comes home exhausted! We take our Cairn Terrier here for his regular grooming because Kirsty is so good with him ( he can be a bit awkward!). He loves Kirsty - and she makes a lovely job of grooming him.

We have used both daycare & training classes at The Dog Play Centre for our dog Rio & can see a big difference with his confidence. Lisa & her team are fantastic, knowledgeable & super caring with all the dogs.
