Discovery house is been the most greatest place I could ever have picked to go to rehab I've been to 23 different rehabs and out of all of them this one touch his heart to heart because not only do they work with you Hands-On but they also give you the love that you never could give yourself while you aren't active addiction I'm a testimony to its own I have six months clean at the time and I'm back with my family working things out and working my program by the grace of God and also through the help of Discovery House if you had a hard time at any other Treatment Center I would recommend the discovery house day

TDH saved my life. After being at 10+ treatment centers and fighting a 10 year long battle with heroin and meth i ended up at TDH. I completed residential and then stayed in their IOP program for another 9 months. This was hands down the best facility i have ever been to. The Discovery House saved my life. I have been to a number of different treatment centers this was the first place that met all my needs plus had staff that truly cared. The people loved me until i loved myself. The Discovery House literally saved my life. I’ve been to multiple treatment centers in the past and they were fine but it was mostly like do 30 days and then you’re on your own, and for someone like me whose entire life revolved around drugs that wasn’t enough. I came to TDH broken, completely unaware of how to live life like a normal person. I did 30 days inpatient and then continued in their extremely intensive outpatient program for another 9 months. Not only did they help me identify why i used, and give me one on one counseling, they also taught me how to be self sufficient. My counselor helped me put together a resume and find a job. They introduced me to the 12 steps and gave me the structure that I needed to get back on track. Thanks to AA the TDH I have gone from living on the street, to working full time and being completely self sufficient. I now have 18 months sober and I’m so incredibly grateful for this program. I started using drugs and alcohol when I was 15 years old. I found The Discovery House when I was 49 years old. That is 34 years of using and running and gunning. I would sometimes white knuckle not using drugs but I never quit drinking because I was a drug addict not alcoholic right. When I found TDH I found my new life. The staff was knowledgeable and very supportive. My counselors Hurla and Jorge were exactly what I needed. They did not take any bs and they helped me get to the source of the problems of why I was the way I was. Today I have 93 days clean which I have not had since I was 15 years old. Oh, what to say...
Hard not to express gratitude to this place for making sure I took of a leap of faith and went the extra mile in getting the needed help for my recovery. Well versed in true treatment and setting people up for life outside the walls of treatment centers.
The best part (besides the amazing food courtesy of Chef Peter, a damn fine man as well) was the staff.
Where do I even begin?
With Tracy walking the walk, and believing in every person who walks through the door. Mary leading the way on giving comfort to those worried and distracted about their job security with FMLA and granting comfort. Counselors up and down being caring and taking one on one with all clients besides their direct caseload (With everything from the wonderfully soft caring of people like Erica, to the get you some comfortable you can do real healing from Jermiah and Dave, to the lived it can give you real guidance on how to stay alive in this life or death situation from Robert, Mike, and Dimitri) the staff is far and away an A plus.

Speaking of, the overnight staff offers a lot to those of us who wake up wicked early and like to reflect. Great crew.

The night shift though. Wow. They knock it out of the park. Out of the freaking park. TJ. Lily. Nicole. Amanda. Juan. Mike. John. Geo. Delilah. Chris.

Without that crew there's no way I would have been half as invested in sticking atound. Each one of them played a HUGE part in offering insight I hadn't thought of before, or at the least a shoulder to cry on. Well balanced and well versed people.

I’ve been to A LOT of treatment centers, and when i ended up coming to TDH i expected it to be the same thing. I expected boring repetitive groups, 15 clients for every one staff member, and a bunch of clients that were just sitting around talking about the glory days. But i was surprised to find out that wasn’t the case at all. The groups were educational and the staff that ran them were knowledgeable. I never felt like they were just trying to kill time, they were engaging and enlightening. There was always staff around that were always willing to help in any way they could. My councilor wasn’t overwhelmed by her case load so she was able to tailor my treatment plan to fit me. And the times when people tried to sit around and tell war stories there was always staff there to redirect the conversation to something positive. There were constantly alumni and iop clients coming back over to mentor and interact with the newer clients. I stayed at TDH almost 6 months, and i can honestly say that the structured and supportive environment saved my life. I was homeless, in and out of jail and using IV drugs before i got there. I had accepted that i was hopeless and i would die strung out. I know it’s corny but this place gave me my life back. I will forever be grateful for this facility and the people who work there. Let me start by saying that this place has saved my life and I owe where I am today to the owners and staff of this facility. I had been struggling with alcoholism since getting out of college. I had tried alcoholics anonymous and always viewed it as a dark smokey room with older people that I always struggled to relate with. Once I arrived at The Discovery House my perception of recovery transformed from that dark smokey room to a place full of young smiling faces that welcomed me with open arms. I came into The Discovery House very broken and with very little hope for something positive to happen in my life. I was picked up by two wonderful people, Adam and Deanna. Immediately upon arriving at TDH, the support staff took me under their wings and treated me like I meant something and not like I was less than which was huge for me. Tracy, Mary, Dani, Gordon, Kimmy and Kristina and a whole lot more are just amazing people who care deeply about the clients well being. The Director Keith is an amazing kind man with a huge heart. The Assistant Director Joy is just the biggest breath of fresh air I could ever imagine and her ability to meet clients where they are at is what sets her apart from anyone I've ever met in this field. My counselor Vindell, the therapist Serene, Roberto (psychodrama), and all of the counselors (Miss Gwen, Tori, Matt and Jordan)  are the gears that changes lives at TDH!! I owe my life to The Discovery House and couldn't imagine any facility being on this level! Top Notch!!!!! I first came to TDH in June of 2016. This facility has done nothing but accommodate me. It's the nicest facility I've ever been too. It's always clean, and the food is great. I felt nothing but welcomed from all support staff and counselors. I have never learned so much knowledge about my disease anywhere. Or effective ways to cope with my illness. I went to the Discovery House back in 2011. Was welcome immediately. The house was always warm and clean. You develop a close bond with those around you the other patients and staff. Unfortunately I did not beat my addiction until 2014 two years clean and going strong. I left too soon wish I would have stayed longer. Miss every I met there. My story may be a bit long but I assure you my thoughts and feelings may help. My 1st visit to TDH was 8/13... I was referred to them at 2:00am by just going thru every rehab number I could find. . Desperation for my life!Jessica answered my call and I was on a plane quickly... She hand held me so to speak by insisting on calling me every 15 minutes or so while I was waiting to board.I was drunk and terrified!Once I arrived at TDH and processed I met my first Angel, her name is Joy. My detox was horrendous and she watched over me, held me when I cried, comforted when I was terrified! Now my first stay was very hard!I will admit it was over staffed and unorganized and David scared the shit out of me! But in his defense I showed my ass on a few occasions.While I only stayed 71 days....See I had been drunk steady for 6 years, my mind had lost its ability to comprehend much... I Would NOT Allow TDH to get in my head... I fought them tooth and nail!Fast forward January 2015I had relapsed on and off for most of 2014.As I saw my life/marriage slip away again. I knew I needed help... As I sat my husband down and told him I wanted to go back to TDH he was shocked! If you hated it so much before, why go back? Go somewhere else.But I knew the fires at TDH and needed to go too a place I was familiar with.Only this time I knew in my heart that if this was going to work I had to allow myself vulnerability.Once again after one call I was boarding the plane.Once again I saw my Angel, Joy and felt safe..But everything was different with the staff, curriculum and vibe...it felt electric!!Much for the Better!But see my head and heart was in a different place also.. I was allowing myself to be open and vulnerable.I also had the knowledge that they to had grown... As with any New Company, as they were when first I went... They were improving as they learned! Don't we all?Were they perfect? No.... But who is..I alone allowed myself too accept their help and dived in.They helped me so much, not only with learning to live sober but mentally as well.Psycho Drama particularly enabled me to learn and let go of my demons..I stayed past my 90 days!I owe them my life! But I too take credit, for I allowed to help me.So for all who give bad reviews, the naysayers.... There is No Perfect Place for Recovery unless you are willing to Allow It. Faults they may have, We all have!Life is not perfect, people are not perfect! I will and have referred others to TDH.. Today marks my one year anniversary of the day I came to The Discovery House and started my new awesome sober life. The Discovery House gave me the personal one on one treatment that I needed to learn how to live sober AND happy. Seriously every staff member cares about you and is there for you no matter what, always down to talk about anything you may need to. Today, I have serenity and peace thanks to TDH. My loved one was a patient here. This by far has been the hardest thing me and my family have endured. TDH and its staff are amazing. When our loved one was take in, we didn't know what to expect; however, Melanie (councilor) was always keeping us up to date on everything. The staff and everyone was so nice; my family and I always felt welcome when we visited. Thanks to TDH my loved one is in recovery.
