I was intent on finding a new vendor for our holiday gifts, having been surprised that so many people seem it acceptable to send subpar chocolate to their clients. I was delighted to find The Dessert Ladies. They were quick to communicate, clarified my needs, sent a tester, and ultimately delivered the 125 boxes of Biens (chocolate cake truffles) with great timeliness to Washington, DC. The tester was such a hit that employees started ordering additional boxes on their own, and multiple clients have written they need to ration their box so they don't eat it all at once. They collaborated with me to make a paw patrol themed birthday cake for my toddler. Didn't feel rushed when trying to find the right image for the cake and was honest when helping me try to find the right size cake for the party instead of pushing me to get the largest $$$ one. The cake itself was absolutely Delish - moist vanilla cake with fresh strawberry cream filling. My guests would rave on about the Customized Oreo favors. I would definitely order from here again! The Dessert Ladies prepared a cake for my father's 60th Birthday that was as beautiful as it was delicious!They were able to include a picture of my Dad on the top of the cake that was so sharp, you would think you were looking at a high-def TV and not a cake print. Lindsay and her staff are incredible! They made such a gorgeous and delicious wedding cake for my wedding this past Sunday. I went into the shop with only a vague idea of what I wanted, but Lindsay helped me to narrow down my choices and create the perfect cake. The staff at The Berkeley Plaza said it was the most beautiful cake they'd ever seen. We got three flavored, each more yummy than the next. I love desserts and I love supporting local businesses in my community. The Dessert Ladies combines my two loves and covers them in chocolate. Located on Main Street in the heart of our town, The Dessert Ladies is my family's go-to place for sweets and treats for parties and gifts.The chocolate covered strawberries are divine! I get a mix of dark and milk chocolate plump strawberries with white chocolate drizzled on top. They were wrapped in plastic on a silver tray and a big bow one time, and another time in an adorable pink bakery box with scalloped edges. The biens--basically cake balls--are absurdly rich and fudgey. I brought them to a party and everyone went into shock. They're unbelievable. In the store there are all kinds of fanciful, detailed, gorgeous cakes on display to show the types of cake designs available. The designs rival "the Cake Boss"--these are the Cake Queens! Along with all types of desserts and sweets, there is an area of adorable gifts. Michel Design Works brand soaps, candles and stationary are a personal favorite of mine and there are plenty in the store to choose from. Being able to pick up dessert for a party and a quick gift at the same time is wonderful.The women who own the business are lovely. They are passionate about their business and customers. These women are definitely an up and coming company. I first encountered them at a street fair and then decided to see what they would offer for favors for my wedding. WOW!! We did boxes of their signature treats, Beins, in fall flavors for our October wedding. The boxes were personalized and designed to match our wedding. They tasted so delicious and not a single favor was left on the table at the end of the wedding! What was even better was they were willing to go the step further and personalized our boxes to also be seating cards.
