Such a fun date activity!
We came here for the wine tasting in the dark. Sadly, I felt sick and was unable to stay. They immediately took care of me , refunded our tickets and continued to make sure I was ok. Can't wait to return to actually do the tasting. This place is very AVL in all aspects! Great live music as well. Will definitely be back! Thank you Conundrum for being so awesome! More...
Amazing place, so much fun. Great staff!
Awesome! Very friendly peeps. Great drinks.
The Conundrum was truly amazing! My sister and I signed up for an escape room and a wine tasting on the same night and ended up spending about 5 hours there. They immerse you in the coolest environment and they have the friendliest staff ever! We loved every cast member we met, we will definitely be back and I highly recommend the conundrum to anyone looking for fun, mystery and adventure! More...
I've done a few styles of Escape Room events, this was by far my favorite. Fun to support a local business!
If you want something different from Asheville, enjoy the wine tasting in the dark. A funny, and even educational, experience you'll be talking about all the way home.
Cute and quaint feel...great drinks
We dropped by on a whim and were given a great little tour by the guy working there. We are escape room junkies and this one looked great although we weren’t able to fit it into our schedule. When we come back to the area this will be the first place we go. Such a fun kooky atmosphere perfect for tourists! Would definitely try this before any chain escape room More...
11/10. Staff (Michael!) was awesome. Whatever kind of night you're looking to have, they can figure out how to make it happen :)
Awesome time, enjoyed the atmosphere, the live music, and the experience. All staff was knowledgable and the bartender made you feel at home. The murder mystery was an awesome experience and I would come back in a heart beat. Very unique and memorable. More...
Interesting speak easy. Not very busy, but the workers were welcoming.
So escape rooms have become my new hobby when I'm not playing paintball. I have tried many different companies in our area. Some are better than others. This one is one of the best I've been to in Asheville. You go down the steps and knock on the door. You enter the speakeasy with a secret password. *I'm not gonna give the password*. Then you are greeted at the door by a very nice person who shows you to the bar area. Full bar here ladies and gentlemen. Very neat place. This is where I took away the 5th star. I totally get it, but I have to do it. It was Father's Day so they were slow so the bartender left early. Had I been able to try an adult beverage I probably would've given it a 5th star. Maybe next time. You're then led to a room to be given the safety instructions and to meet your host. Very interesting. Very fun experience. I won't give any clues. Just know that this place isn't for first timers unless you want to drink and do a room. These rooms are very challenging. Don't be shy though. Jump in. You won't regret it. In the end, we did not get out in time. However, we will be back. We will get out. We will drink your spirits. I definitely recommend this place! More...
We went for the beer tasting. It was a lot of fun. Highly recommended. Get there early and have an old school cocktail. They don't serve a lot of beer but I brought a PBR in with me to contrast it with the Sour, Porter and IPA we had. Sat with 2 other couples visiting. The time was fun, but if you don't go with your own group of 6 friends you're kind of unsure of what to expect from your tastemates. They were amusing, but if possible, better with your own group. Take a ride share, we came home and took a nap before Shakespeare in the park! More...
We enjoyed an evening of wine tasting in the dark. It was a fun adventure with delicious treats and a comical show. Our host was wonderful. I recomend this to anyone over 21!
A single visit to this below-ground bunker spot (along the PubCycle route) gave me the immediate feel of a 1930's speakeasy... intentionally, of course. Dark and cozy! More...
First time ever attempting an escape puzzle. Staff was friendly, puzzles were cool. Located in the basement of a large building
Loved this place , great atmosphere ! The Attic was awesome.
Here for the in the dark beer tasting! Great selection. Different but a must try.
I've never done an escape room. Ever. Why? Mainly because I'm lazy. When visiting Asheville my girlfriend brought it up and it sounded fun. We arrived at Conundrum and provided a secret passcode to get in. No really. It was a great unique start ot the experience. We then we're brought into a speakeasy area to meet with our teammates before entering a briefing room. Here we went through a quick tutorial before meeting our guide. I won't spoil anything, but the actor(s) who are part of the experience are fantastic. Our team had fun going through the escape room but ultimately failed the challenge. With that said I absolutely do this again and the next time I come to Asheville it will be Conundrum! More...
What a great find in downtown! The speakeasy, and escape room!
Very friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere. Only had drinks.
This is hands-down my favorite escape room in Asheville. They have really awesome rooms, but they also have really great staff. They are the only room I've been to that the staff is in-character the whole time and interact/help in person while remaining in-character. It's a more in-depth experience compared to other escape rooms who just play a video and the staff interacts via only a speaker. Also they have the speak-easy and serve adult beverages which is nice! It's a nice atmosphere. More...
We had such a great time in the murder mystery room. We can't wait to go back.
Such a cool bar!! The staff is super friendly!! We did a lockout room for our son’s 8th birthday. My 10 year old had been there for a 9 year old’s party and said that it was definitely geared towards kids and that their guide stayed with them the whole time and helped and she loved it. It’s the whole reason we planned our son’s birthday there. Our experience was completely different. It was extremely difficult for kids and was way over their heads so they lost interest a lot. The room wasn’t changed much to make it more kid-friendly and it was really hard to hear any of the clues over the walkie talkie. We were disappointed. Trying to get in contact with anyone there is really hard. We sent an email, tried to call and even texted like their voicemail said and never heard back when we had questions about the party so we weren’t able to book a room for cake like we had hoped. ☹️ We would love to go back with adults for drinks because it’s a cool atmosphere but we definitely won’t take kids again for the lockout room. Great atmosphere. Cool spot to hangout and have a cocktail. Super friendly staff.
Setting: an underground, cozy bar with couches, secret lounges, and live entertainment.Protagonists: six millennials looking to have a good time, the really creative and fun bartender, the actress in the escape roomAntagonists: crushing student debt, loneliness, the cold night air, being soberPlot line: the three couples came an hour early, where they were provided games, including a mini free escape room in the bar. There was live music, Ashley something? She was really good and took requests. The bartender surprised us with every drink, asking us questions to come up with things we would like. Her artistry with drinks and shots made you feel like being at an actual Speakeasy. We found the secret lounges and continued playing games for a while before the escape room. We chose the WunderBrugghen and it was SO much fun. We had never done one before, but all six of us were challenged and involved. We didn't make it out, but we still had a really fun time. The actor was dedicated and a lot of fun, so make sure you bring some cash to tip her. At $25 per ticket, I think it's totally worth your money at least once. More...
Super speakeasy vibe! Very small and quaint! Check the website for event information before you go to make sure they're open! Our bartender was so friendly and happy to talk about bar and night life! Great experience!! More...
A really good time! Definitely not corney at all! My husband and I wanted to do something different instead of the normal dinner and a movie and this was better than we could have imagined! You will not be disappointed at all! We managed to escape and had an amazing time! More...
Amazing....Amazing...Amazing...The Bartender Ashley made some of the best drinks i have had in my existence of life! Gin Fizz with real egg white...smoked and i mean LITERALLY smoked the whiskey so you could smell the hickory in the old fashion! The escape room was amazing as well but the speak easy bar had to be one of my favorite...you need a password to get in but all are welcomed! Love this place and everything about it! P.S. Its downstairs in case you get lost! More...
Everything was fantastic! The atmosphere was fantastic! The service was fantastic! The champagne margarita was beyond fantastic! I wasn't sure what to get as I'm usually just a red wine drinker but I wanted to be adventurous whilst on vacation. The bartender (pretty blonde, Jax, Jacks ) was very knowledagble & made the perfect suggestion. My boyfriend got a Manhattan & he said it was perfect. She also gave us other great recs for stuff to do while in town. We'll definitely be back when visiting this beautiful city again, and we'll be sure to tell all of our friends to do the same. More...
I love this place. I have lived in Asheville for 19 years and rarely go downtown. Jax is awesome, the comfy bar is perfect, tourists have a great time.. And probably one of the best Manhattans ever. More...
So much fun!
The puzzles were accessible and engaging. Everyone that did it had a lot of fun!
Good for small groups or date night. Bartenders were awesome and very knowledgeable. We chatted the entire time and I learned more about absinthe, bourbon, and what makes a great cocktail.
Took my bachelorette party here, it was very fun and challenging! We had a great time.
The escape room was a blast even if we didn't escape. The bar has a good selection and some unique mixed drinks.
The best time ever!
Amazing staff. Go for the dark beer and wine tastings. Say “hey” to Wulfy for me
Fantastic experience! Challenging room with a great guide. Would definitely do again!
I've done a few escape rooms before, but I've never done one that was quite as immersive as Abigail's Attic! The story was really exciting, the puzzles were really fun, and everyone had a great time. There were three groups that had booked for a total of 7 people, which did seem a little cramped at times... but that might have been our fault, too, for all trying to work on the same thing! The actress was funny and kind, and very helpful. We really enjoyed this! More...

This was the most detailed escape room I have ever been in!!! The actor (characters) were awesome! The amount of thought that went into these rooms was amazing - I have never seen such tasks! Highly recommend!!! FYI - very good for larger groups, always ask about the suggested number of participants, they aren't kidding!!! More...
We went to the wine tasting in the dark. The novelty level was great. When we arrived, everything was themed from head to toe. The staff was very nice and the drinks at the bar were good. We arrived a little early and the speakeasy section was comfortable and nice. The tasting itself started a little late and we were with a group of 4 other couples, 3 of those were traveling together. The three couples that were together were unfortunately very inappropriate with their jokes and not to be dramatic but the nature of those jokes was highly offensive and I was driven to tears and we had to leave with one wine left. The actor running the tasting was extremely helpful and kind and the rest of the staff was very supportive. They offered us compensation in the form of drinks and offered 2 free passes for a different activity, although we declined because we were leaving town. I can't emphasize how understanding and helpful everyone working there was and I appreciated their help. The staff assured me that that kind of behavior was really rare amongst their patrons, but regardless I would recommend taking your friends for the tastings just so you don't have to deal with the kind of despicable people we were with and also because it's probably fun for friends to do together.Anyway, not sure if anyone at the location reads reviews but thank you for being so understanding and I'm sorry if I made anyone uncomfortable today.Edit: I was given a full refund which I appreciate. It was unexpected because we still participated almost fully in the event but I appreciate it very much. More...
Fun unique experience! Bier tasting and fun pairings in the dark is a must!! Along with the escape rooms! Not to mention the actor's/actresses, and prohibition style speakeasy.
This escape room was great in a lot of ways! I've done probably around ~20 escape rooms at this point and the two they offer were certainly among the best I've done. The actors make the experience really fun and immersive. The Brewery room was really well structured and laid out, the Attic one not quite as much, but still ok. They were both challenging but not impossible. They had cool & unique features that I had never seen in escape rooms before. The whole speakeasy vibe of the main area is really cool as well. The one disappointing thing is that they don't let you see how the room finishes if you don't reach the end when the 60 minutes are up. Every other escape room I've done they will show you what you would have needed to do, but this one they ushered us out. I definitely left with a sense of frustration and disappointment. I asked the employee why they don't let people finish and he said they would if they have time before the next game, even though we started the game about 20 minutes before our time slot so they had an extra 20 minutes of leeway. It didn't feel good to be lied to, but the rooms were still fun. More...
Fun place to entertain fiends and coworkers. My company had a team builder night out. We had a group of 20+. We all had our turn at trying to escape, while waiting for others, Jax the bartender, took good care of us with specialty cocktails and good conversation. I highly recommend Enter the Conundrum !! So much fun! Our group of 5 found this to be one of the best escape room experiences...even better than the escape room franchses. A lot of the fun was thanks to Ian, who an amazing host and actor. We will be back for sure! More...
I was so delighted to be included when the Asheville Mardi Gras Board and volunteers were invited to experience Dinner au Noire at this unique restaurant and bar. The food was delicious and skillfully served in the pitch dark! So we had the chance to use all our other sense to experience the dinner and the stories that came along. We had a great time. Highly recommend this experience. It's unlike any other in Asheville. More...
"Where were you when the lights went out? " If you had been with the 12 of us at the conundrum you would have been experiencing something really unique -- Dinner Au Noir! Sharing a delicious dinner and hilarious stories without the use of our sense of sight allowed us to experience each other and the food in a totally new way. Even if you don't try one of their "escape" experiences or the Dinner Au Noir, at least stop in to The Conundrum for a cocktail to check out the "steam-punk-game-of-clue-Sherlock-Holmes decor and the charming staff. Freindly staff, fun and challenging puzzles. Our first escape room and would absolutely go again! Certainly a pleasant and memorable experience. :)
Enter the Conundrum was by far our favorite Escape Room in Asheville and offered a fresh experience unlike any I’ve encountered in the 30+ rooms I have played. Found in the Grove Arcade area of downtown Asheville, there is a stairway down into the building that leads you into the speakeasy themed bar. We went there to do both “The Attic” and “The Brewery of WunderBrugghen” escape rooms. The element that takes Enter the Conundrum (ETC for the rest) to the next level is its incorporation of immersive theater. After a safety briefing, you meet your gamemaster, who is in character and adds a layer of immersion beyond standard fare. In the case of “The Attic” our host (Scott) was a caretaker for the household with a British accent. He was hilarious and made asking for clues an absolute delight.
As for the rooms themselves, both rooms are 100% custom built and the puzzles were designed in house. “The Attic” is a theme where you are called in to investigate strange occurrences. The design of the room was fairly immersive with a few elements that broke the theme but the soundtrack played throughout made the enter room feel the creepy vibe that you would associate with an old attic. The puzzles were laid out in a logical progression that rarely made you feel stuck. We played this room with only two people and were able to get out. Our gamemaster was even kind enough to give us some extra time at the end since we were the last group of the night and since a directional lock was temperamental.
We returned the next night (which we planned because Scott was going to be our gamester again) to play the Brewery room. This room had a total of three immersive game hosts (all played by Scott) to continue to the story. In comparison, we did feel that this was the weaker of the rooms in that it didn’t feel as immersive and there were a couple of puzzles that were time intensive (which made it difficult for two people to complete). We didn’t get out but we were walked through the end of the game to see how it would have ended. There was a broken element in the room that Scott skipped us past since it wasn’t working.
Even with the second room being a little bit of a let-down, I am still giving this 5 stars purely due to the acting and interactions we got throughout the experience from Scott. Due to the use of live actors, your experience may vary a little bit, but I feel that the approach to these rooms are thought out and with the addition of an actor it just bumps the overall experience to the next level. I would highly suggest trying out The Attic if you are in the Asheville area as it isn’t an experience you would want to miss and if you have a party of more than 2 and want a challenge, give the Brewery a try (after you do the awesome Attic room of course). Nice quality wines that will appeal to wine geeks and those new to the world of wine. Really great pairing of small finger foods that bring out the personality of each wine. We did the wine tasting in the dark and it was the most awesomest adventure we have had on a vacation. I've been here just to drink before and the staff is always top notch. If you go to Asheville,. Get here
This joint has one of the coolest vibes in Asheville. The bar is fun and the people are great. Well-made drinks. The escape room is hard but worth it. A great place all-round.
My team and I did The Attic, and it was the best escape room I have ever done! The clues are dynamic and encourage you to problem solve in many different ways and levels, and our host’s theatrical involvement added to the fun. The added bonus of the bar is a nice feature, too. Thank you, Conundrum, for such a great night! More...

There was a lot of thought and creativity when putting together these multi room brain teasers. First of all the atmosphere of the speak easy is so cool!!!!! It is the perfect place to catch up with friends. But that's not what we went for; we went for the escape room. It was the BEST escape room we have done. (and we have done several) At the time we went there was a Groupon so we even got a great deal. It was a group of four, and even though we didn't break out we had a lot of fun! It was a good story line. (not too cheesy) The staff and actors were wonderful. More...

Super fun place off the beaten track.
Our party really enjoyed this escape room (we did the brewery one), was a total blast! The only thing we found a bit off-putting was the request for tips ($5 per person). They tell you in advance that the escape room guides are starving artists and could use extra money, but to blatantly request that after charging a good amount to begin with was a bit rude. Our guide didn't seem that into it, but it was later in the day, so maybe that was why. More...
Great experience, service/people running the place is really nice.Lots of special effects and is better than other escape the rooms I’ve gone toYou can tell they work hard on all the rooms definitely recommend though a bit pricy worth it
So fun. This is one of the coolest "speakeasy" themed bars I've ever been to. Add in the escape rooms in the back, and it is a unique experience you won't soon forget!
My friends and I have done a ton of escape rooms and this was definitely one of the best! Our host was awesome (and that was not an easy job and could have been done really poorly if he wasn't such a great comedian). We did the brewery room and it was surprisingly difficult and complex (which I would prefer harder over easier). You do get an endless amount of clues so the difficulty really is up to you. There were a few puzzles in which they were set up in such a way that there was only one "right" way to complete them and if you tried any other way it wasted a lot of time (I'm trying not to give anything away but basically we wasted a lot of time on something that I wish the host would've just told us to stop trying it that way). This was well worth the money and one of the better escape rooms that I have done in terms of telling a story. My one regret was that we went before the bar had opened so we didn't get to try it-- we will have to return again! More...

WHat a great time we had. We experienced the Wine Tasting in the dark. Truth We were wondering if it was worth the time and money. What a surprise ! The experience was one the best things we've done in a long time. Our group of 5 were 60 - 75 years young. There was also a young couple of girls in their 20's and another couple in the 50's. Everyone of us were so pleased with the experience. Our WIne expert, Wolfie, was entertaining and informative and we learned so much about tasting wines and pairing with foods all while laughing and interacting with each other. This was all in complete darkness ! I know, you may have some misgivings about total darkness as we did but it was a vital part of making your taste and smell the most important senses.Wunderbar ! OK, here is the real deal on escape rooms. Some are low budget, thrown together with a bunch of crap from the dollar store, spray painted, nasty old warehouses with nothing but a bunch of number riddles linked to various locks around the room. They are pretty unsatisfying overall and leave you feeling like you've thrown your hard earned money in the trash. They suck. They just suck. You probably have been to one of those at some point in your escape room career, right?Well, Conundrum is absolutely nothing like that. The atmosphere begins to emerge upon trying to locate the entry. You have to go down a flight of stairs under a huge, beautiful, historic building in downtown Asheville. Once inside, the waiting area looks like a creepy Victorian parlor. You then have to know a password to actually get into the facility, which is a really cool steam punk speakeasy complete with absinthe cocktails, local beers, wine, etc. Each of the themed rooms is decked out with legit props, audio visual effects, and a living breathing guest host to walk you through your escape attempt. Conundrum feels more like an interactive theater production than a cheesy escape room, setting it apart from all of the other local options. I highly recommend this venue, especially if you are in the market for something a little bit different than your standard spray-painted warehouse escape room experience! More...
This review was specifically for ".Brewery of Dr. Wunderbruggen". I've done 5-6 different escape rooms, and this was definitely one of the best. We entered with 8 people who were pretty experienced with escape rooms and we JUST managed to find the key out with less than a minute left. The puzzles were both varied and interesting, and there was always enough to do that multiple people could be working on different problems at the same time. There were a couple of problems with really satisfying physical interactions, it's way more exciting for an unexpected hatch to pop open than to simply open a lock and the live actor really added to the fun. I'd highly recommend it! More...
The "Attic of Abigail Falkirk" was amazing! We had a group of 8 and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was definitely challenging and there were several tasks to complete, but the host was very helpful and we made it through in 48 minutes! The acting and the staging was pretty authentic, and there were some spooky factors that kept it interesting. I definitely suggest using a Groupon if you can, because it knocked our tickets down to $17 a piece! More...
Ok, so to be fair we don't drink. We just did the escape room. Speak easy place seemed cool, but not our thing. Escape room was good but was a bit vague at times and took some stretches of logic to solve some clues. Actress did a wonderful job
First time doing an escape one room and had a lot of fun...the staff is great and the drinks were good!
We did the Vine Noire "wine tasting in the dark" and it was definitely a must-try! Our host was supposedly a German sommelier named "Wolfie" and he was hysterical! The wine tasting in the dark really adds a twist because you're more tuned in to your taste buds. They serve some light snacks to bring out the flavors of the wine too. Highly recommend! More...

Great experience helps to build teamwork we solved the riddle with 5 minutes to spare.
Did a breakout too. Was a good time. A tad pricey.
Fun, fun and more fun! Great room, funny host and a terrific mystery.
The place has a fantastic speakeasy vibe! The employees are friendly and the escape rooms are really fun as well!
Best escape room I've done yet with a really good variety of challenges to solve. My favorite part about it was the extent to which they went with the theme (we did the attic), including our wonderful host "Ambrose". Loved it and highly recommend them. Even the speakeasy waiting room/bar was really well done. Thank you Conundrum! More...

Asheville is awesome
The BEST escape the room I've ever done. The attention to detail was so far beyond any other place I've been to. I've been telling everyone about it any chance I get. It made such a huge impact on me that I'm still raving about it 3 days later. Will DEFINITELY be going back next time I'm in Asheville. Seriously, go to Enter the Conundrum!!! More...
Definitely recommend. It was a very unique experience. The staff was amazing and very helpful when asked. Pushed our cognitive limit... *don't have cocktails before you go* More...
I cannot count the number of escape rooms I've completed any more, and I was requested to write this review by the folks working at conundrum as I was leaving based specifically on my feedback. I completed the Attic of Abigail Falkrik on Dec 30, 2016. The room itself was a little sparsely decorated. There were ample props, but the room wasn't so transformed that it felt like the attic it was meant to portray. However, the game play was excellent, thematically engaging, and totally made up for the design. There were times when the we solved a puzzle faster than the game expected (thus the puzzle included more hints for something we already solved) but this is preferred over having to scratch our heads about whether we were doing something right. Also, the room's guide is an actor who stays in character and helps make the room a more coherent story line. I highly recommend this room! More...
We were snowed in for the weekend and they braved the weather to open. It was a great time with friends and family and lots of fun. Would definitely recommend and would go back again. More...
Good times. Challenging and fun.
Extremely entertaining, quite challenging. A great hour spent with friends. Worth every penny! Will definitely be back for the Brewery room :)
Had a great time with my group tonight. The staff was friendly and professional. Both rooms were challenging.
AWESOME TIME!!! Had a blast, made new friends. You can hang out at the underground steam punk bar even if not doing the escape room. Kelly's the best. Mwaah!
This was a great place and experience. The hosts were awesome and the challenge great. Plus the speak easy type bar was a lot of fun to. They provide various riddles while you wait for your room which really make the whole experience great. Would do again! More...
I highly recommend for people with teenagers. I took a group of my high school seniors and they had a great time. They were engaged the entire time, and the team building opportunity was amazing. The staff even entertained my students while they waited in the lounge. Parking in the area is limited so leave yourself time to find a space. More...
This place was awesome! The staff was polite and friendly. The there has really cool prohibition mixed with some steampunk flare. We didn't finish our drinks in time before going into our room and the staff at the bar offered to put them in their fridge to keep them cold till we were done. The actors really helped make the whole experience more fun, building on the story of the room and making you feel more involved. Way better than just being thrown into a room and left to figure it out. We didn't finish our room in time, but it was still a lot of fun and an interesting experience. I would defintely recommend checking out Enter the Conundrum. More...
I can't say enough about the fun my company had doing the "The Attic" escape room! We haven't stopped talking about it for months! If you are into murder mysteries this is the place for you. The actors are authentic and it truly makes you feel like you are in the story! We had a group of 9 people and we got about 70% of the way through. I'd love to go back and "escape" the room! Besides the thrill, the speakeasy style bar is to die for. I can't recommend the absinthe drinks enough. Fresh ingredients and they're made and muddled right in front of you. And if absinthe isn't for you the beer and wine selection is great! If you're looking for a good time with friends, a wedding party, or even a fun family event, Enter the Conundrum is for you! This place was so much fun! We did the brewery room and had a great time. The staff was really friendly, and gave us great instructions before we entered. The set up was fun! We made it out in 52 minutes. For the best experience I suggest a small group. Two is too small, you couldn't get everything done with just two. But more than 6 would be incredibly crowded. Definitely recommend! More...

Entered this place on a whim and was not disappointed. The staff was was very friendly and super animated, got us started thinking outside the box with an easy riddle finding clues around the bar. There is a bunch of boardgames in the main room and seating area on the bar, a table and a sofa. They currently serve beer and wine and will be serving cocktails soon (according to the manager) We did the "Brewery of Doctor Wunderbrugghen" room unfortunately we did not finish but we got 65% done. Loved the theme and the story behind it. We were told we could ask as many clues as we wanted but were too focused on the game and forgot to ask more! Would recommend if you're looking for something fun to do. More...
A group of my friends went to Conundrum yesterday as part of a birthday celebration. Some of us had done Escape Rooms before and some of us were newbies. We all had a FABULOUS time!! When we first entered the place, we were greeted by a wonderfully friendly bartender who acquainted us with the general rules of the place. He then introduced us to our host, who was very convincing in her role as a maid to a rich family with a dark history. Our room was entitled "Abigail's Attic" and had a creepy, spooky theme going. With some helpful hints from our great host, we were actually able to solve the puzzles in the room and escape with 1 minute to spare! What made the experience even more perfect was the fact that Conundrum has a steampunk themed bar where you can celebrate your victory (or just celebrate your best effort) with some yummy local beer! I highly recommend this Escape Room to anyone looking to have some exciting and slightly unconventional fun! More...
Excellent entertainment! Abigail's Attic was a perfectly planned haunted theme room! The staff at Conundrum is wonderful and we just couldn't get over the detail and atmosphere. Everything about our experience was top-notch! Can't wait to go again and take a group of family and friends! More...
The staff was extremely accommodating; we booked for a Friday night but were driving from Virginia and were going to be a bit late so I called and they changed our reservation for the next night. We had a person in our party that is in a wheelchair, they helped with that as well. The game was super involved and super fun! We have a pretty smart crew and it definitely worked our brain! I'm afraid to write more because I don't want to spoil it. Bring a flashlight if you have one, they give you two but we needed more. We are always prepared so we had some and were glad! They will lock your phones up so again bring light. So flipping fun! I wanna do the other room next time we come to Asheville. More...
This was our first time in an escape room. We had two families - 4 adults and 4 kids - it was a ton of fun! Everyone contributed and we escaped with less than a minute to spare. We had to solve a spooky mystery (without Fred and Velma) to get out and it was very challenging (a few timely hints from the costumed/participating people that worked there made the difference). Highly recommended and the location is perfect in downtown Ashvegas, across from the Grove Arcade. I have a feeling that if we did other escape rooms, that they would not be as good as this one. Make sure to tip the staff afterwards if you have as much fun as we did! More...
Literally the best. This is a must do in while in Asheville!!
Great time, must see.
This was my second escape room experience, and it was far and away better than my first one. They really pay attention to detail in this one. It's hard to sum up what I mean without spoiling it, so I won't say anything else other than you will absolutely get your money's worth out of this. Lots of fun, excellent production value, and a few truly ingenious puzzles. More...
This was much better than my first escape room experience. Great puzzles and the theme was fun. The interaction with the staff was wonderful. We succeeded with 1 minute to spare. With 4 kids ages 9-14 and 4 adults, it was a bit chaotic, but manageable. If you have young kids, know that it starts out dark and a bit scary. More...
One of the best escape rooms I've done. The puzzles are integrated into the story as is the character that acts as the game master. Their waiting room is steam punk themed and has a small bar so you can have a drink before or after your game. I highly recommend it. More...

really cool place to test your wits
This experience was so much fun! It was challenging, smart, and most of all, entertaining and intriguing. The time flew by and a terrific time was had by all in our 4 person group. The staff was friendly, informative, and really seemed to enjoy their work! I highly recommend this experience. More...
I had the best time doing this! It was exciting and entertaining, and a nice way to bond with old and new friends. And it's nice to have something to do in a tourist town that exercises the mind. I will definitely come back for more! More...
This was our first Escape Room, and we absolutely LOVED it! This was such a unique experience and we had a lot of fun trying to solve all the puzzles, and even though we only completed 80 percent of the tasks, it was definitely the highlight of our trip.
This was a totally entertaining experience for myself and the group. The characters and storyline made the puzzles fun, and time flew by. Cool bar and lounge too, a must see in Asheville! More...
Went here with a group of 6. It was harder than I thought (and I do puzzles for fun). There's definitely a certain way of thinking that one needs to utilize, and my group didn't have it! On the other hand, there was a lot of rushing around and trying, by God, we TRIED!!A couple of suggestions for the developers: We needed another flashlight. We only had two for 6 of us. The third one's batteries were dead. Also, there is a clue in there that doesn't work if you go in and move things around right at the beginning.... I don't want to give it away.... but since the instructions you get at the beginning are "If anything moves easily - move it!" this seems like counterintuitive. The butler came in and helped us, but even then, with too many people in the room, it was hard for him to get it to work. So that wasted a lot of precious time. Since we left having gotten "80%" of it (we were told), I have to wonder if that clue had worked would we have been successful?Probably not! And a great time was had by all. Those are just 2 tweaks to make it even smoother. I left mentally exhausted for the rest of the night, my brain felt it had been given a workout. You guys did a great job, we wish you a ton of success and are looking forward to the next room you develop. More...
We had so much fun at the escape room. Fun and challenging puzzles, a great evening activity. It would be fun for an older kid too, but puzzles were hard. We made it out just under the wire of 60 min. This was our first time doing an escape room so had no idea what to expect. Would definitely recommend it to friends and now looking forward to trying others! Thanks Conundrum! More...
What to do for fun other than tourist around lovely Asheville's downtown? Hmm...what's this? An escape room? How have I never heard of these things before? Seriously! Get together with friends and solve a mystery? Sign me up! Enter the Conundrum lived up to my wife and I's excitement. It was a blast and we would definitely return sooner than later if not for the drive. Heck, we would have done it again that day if it had been an option. Our hosts were great. If I were my wife, then I'd remember both their names...but then my wife would be married to herself and that would be akward for her, so probably best leave things the way they are. First fellow welcomed us and introduced us to the rules. Because we were a small group who already knew each other, the prep bit here wasn't quite as important as it normally would be. Then we got introduced to Harold the Butler and our clock was ticking. Secret Stuff...Secret Stuff...Secret Stuff. Wow. That was all fun. Harry was helpful, popping into the room a few times to check up on us. We needed some extra time as well, which they graciously gave us. Our Clue Club solved the mystery and saved the day! Hooray! Afterwards we chatted with Harry a bit at the bar. Fun was had by one and all. Definitely was worth the price. Highly Recommend the experience. More...
