A farmer owned road side bar and cafe located in rural Guinda along scenic Highway 16. We serve up seasonal farm to table food from our farm and other Capay Valley farms.
We offer on or off site catering for your special event in and around the Capay Valley. We also rent our classic roadhouse venue with large picnic area for special events. Our signature oak fired Santa Maria style tri-tip BBQ is a great way to please all your guests and keep within a budget but we're not just BBQ. From classic American fare like burgers and fries to crepes Suzette, our chef can work with you and your budget to design that perfect menu for your wedding day, rehearsal event, birthday party or any other event! Make it easier on yourself if you're scheduling an event in the Capay Valley! Use a local business that knows exactly what's fresh, what's in season and can literally run home and pick it from the farm!
As a licensed C41 Beer and Wine caterer, we also offer bartender and beverage services, local wine flights and more.
The commons is worth a drive if you live in the Bay Area. It's worth a detour if you're on a road trip down the five. If you live locally you should support this historic roadhouse. I first went there after a freezing day carrot tasting at river-dog farms and was immediately warmed by the atmosphere inside. It has since changed ownership and has fantastic food and a really cool swing thing outside in the yard. The atmosphere is still beautiful and the are committed to keeping it that way. Five stars! You have to taste their burgers! The burger made from local, grass-fed beef really blew my mind! I still think about it. I handed my burger to my boyfriend and said, “you have to taste this” and he said “Wow! That’s so good!” Beautiful wooden interior, charming booths, vinyl spinning in the back. A gorgeous backyard with picnic tables, swings, and a stage for live music. This is a special place and we will be back! More...
Awesome food, kitchy, rustic decor with 70s records on the player.
Wow. Great small, friendly restaurant and bar. One of my new favorite places.

Very cozy place Rustico style atmosphere food is delicious can't go wrong with pairing it with the glass of wine or a good beer
This is my first time here and I felt welcomed it was close to closing time and they still severed me the place is rustic but it look great food I ordered was a Mexican dish I grew up with had them many different ways, but never like this it's a carnivore way of having chilaquiles the flavor of fried tortillas and meat together with a delicious salsa,& suaces this is for you I can't wait to go back up the hill because I guess I have to try the Shrimp Tacos you don't have to take my word go see for yourself .
Cute rustic place with good food.
Hours and food options are hard to predict. Great beer prices and good food--just never quite sure what the hours will be or what they will be serving.
Amazing food & great atmosphere! Pet friendly too. Highly recommend
A great find. Very local and friendly place. Was here on Cinco de Mayo and all the food was great, tacos, elotes, and ceviche tostadas. On Saturdays they serve Portuguese barbecue, i will be back for that! More...
This place was fabulous! We were going to try eating at Cache Creek Casino but by the time we walked through the cigarette smoke we lost our appetite. This little fresh, backyard dining, friendly Outpost was just what the day called for. We'll try this place again on our travels!!! Thank you! More...

Grass fed burgers...what's not like. Yummy.
Had a great time there today. Found our new favorite hangout!
Delicious food doesn't even do it justice. What an awesome place. Its small and rustic with a family feel. You're treated like a regular here even if its your first time. The garden is beautiful and a great place to enjoy the farm fresh Sunday Brunch. More...
Great local place with a ton of character. A must do if you're traveling through this area.
Mom Pop type Place, good people, good food Homestyle!
We enjoyed a hearty brunch prepared by Chef Jenny of La Tabla today. A beautiful drive, friendly customers and staff and excellent food made for a nice day. Along the way we stopped in to visit Seka Farms Olive Oil tasting room. Nicely done! More...
Nice and cozy place, friendly and great staff. With great outdoors seating and reasonable drink prices. The brunch food was basic and okay, however corned beef was way too salty. We had higher expectations for food. More...

Generous part of our community.
The owners and the staff were a delight. The food was fantastic. And after discovering my group was in need of eggs, the owner went home, got two dozen farm fresh eggs, and brought them back to us. Needless to say, I'd recommend the place. More...
lived in the valley most of my life and this is the best this bar/diner has ever been
Great place, terrific food!!
Great deal on a delicious local grass fed burger and fries along with a pint of Sierra Nevada pale ale. I plan on stopping in everytime I am in the area.

I just had the vegetable chowder and it was fantastic! The hospitality is great!
Great food atmosphere owners and good prices on beer!!
Great food and very friendly people. The owners are local farmers The food fresh and has a great home cooked touch!
A must-do stop on Hwy 16 about 7 miles north of Cache Creek Casino. Grass-fed hamburgers are amazing! Served with grilled pickled onions on a sweet bun and lightly seasoned olive oil fried french fries. Worth driving to if you are taking a break from a day at Cashe Creek and enjoy non-corporate eating. In a prohibition era building with a lot of character with friendly staff, Enjoy! More...
Great vibe, food and beer + wine selection. Outdoor space is great for kids. If I lived closer, I would become a fixture at this spot. Also, you can order Casa Rosa Farm meat for pick up here. Win win! More...
Enjoyed a very delicious "Valentine's Day" lunch today !! We decided to stop here on our "day trip" from Sacramento ... We thought we might try somewhere closer to home, so glad we didn't !! The personality of this quaint establishment is quite refreshing .. the couple who own/ operate the establishment are very pleasant, and the "homemade" food is fantastic !! Don't miss this place when you are out and about !!! We are already planning a return trip !! Enjoy !! More...

Really Good Food !!
Super friendly people, excellent food, great atmosphere!
Cool little place, I like the remodel and the people are nice. I'll be back, thanks Rachel!
Nice, local, family friendly place with delicious food (much of it grown and raised right here in the valley!). The kids enjoyed the pizza (even the teenager who didn't want to admit it), the adults enjoyed the beer, and I enjoyed the linguica sausage. They've done a great job updating the place - we will be back! More...
Awesome...great people , great food, so happy this little country gem is back open with a new set of great folks running it.
The food is the best
I LOVE Guinda Commons. Mom and pop place with superb home-cooking and a chatty, charming owner. Call ahead to make sure they are open because they have trouble keeping staff in this out of the way place. Worth the trip, in the sublime Capay Valley. More...
The catfish is absolutely to DIE for. Succulent, a clean taste, not earthy and dirty like a lot of places serve. And with cornbread that's NOT SWEET, which is exactly how it should be. My friend had the brisket and he looked like he was going to pass out, it was so good. I'm from the south, it's so nice to come somewhere and put the south in my mouth! More...
We had a terrific visit! Most importantly, the food was great. The proprietor's husband is from Tennessee. He smokes the meats featured in most of the entrees. They were delicious. The portions were generous and fairly priced. The atmosphere was fun, too. This is an old roadhouse - it probably served bootleg liquor during Prohibition. The bar is from the 1870's. There are old photos. I found particularly interesting a certificate of World War I service. The proprietor tells good stories. She's entertaining and friendly. I'll be going back here! More...
Great food and atmosphere with an attentive staff and just a general cool vibe. Make this a destination not just a stop on the way to somewhere else.
