The quality of both the food and the service were above and beyond! We had a family gathering (~ dozen people) in the front room, which was quite private and you could easily fit a few more.

My husband and I were finally able to have a date night. We chose to go to The Combine, since we both had never been. As soon as we walked in, we were instantly impressed. The candlelit lighting, the soft music playing, the character of the house with all the old wood trim, it was just gorgeous. Our server was very prompt and extremely welcoming. We ordered some wine, sat and enjoyed each others company without our screaming children fighting in the background lol. The menu choices were phenomenal. So many great choices, mostly using local ingredients. I decided to order the special "surf and turf" and my husband ordered the pork chop. Being kind of "foodies" ourselves, we enjoy eating good food. Well let me tell you, this meal blew both of us away. The smell, the presentation, but the taste.... OMG!! Throughly impressed. My husband and I were married here in the middle of July this summer. It was amazing!!!! We've been waiting to come here for years when we were in the area and we finally made it out. The restaurant is great. We made a reservation ahead of time and sat on the patio. The server was super friendly and made some excellent suggestions. She was very attentive as well. We had the corn dog bites to start which was a great dish and the mustard was a great compliment. For dinner we had the coconut curry braised beef and the buttermilk chicken dishes. We loved both of them. Lastly for dessert we both opted to try the spiced Chocolate torte which if you still have room for dessert you have to try. We wanted to buy a whole dish of that to bring home with us.Overall excellent service, amazing food and great ambiance. We would definitely come back and we'll tell all our friends. The atmosphere was really nice! We sat on the patio and it was perfect. The drinks are delicious - even if you're pregnant and can't drink alcohol they have some tasty refreshing selections which I really appreciate. The food was delicious!!! I was in a bridal party yesterday for my sister’s wedding and I was SO impressed with the service and the amazing food catered by The Combine. As a vegan, I have often found the food options at catered events to be awful (I just usually silently suck it up knowing I’m ordering something more difficult). The Combine created the most delicious cabbage roll filled with quinoa and vegetables in an amazing tomato sauce, topped with asparagus and cherry tomatoes. I’ve never had anything like it! The only downfall? The portion was so huge I couldn’t finish it! Next time I’m at an event catered by The Combine I’ll bring a take home container... My partner and I had our wedding reception at the Combine, and if we could rate it more than 5 stars we would. Everything from the first meeting, to the day of, they were nothing but kind, professional and did everything they could to make it an amazing day for us. We popped in for an early reservation last weekend and were completely charmed by the food and the service. The Combine Norfolk is a total gem and a really reasonably priced for the portion size, quality of food and decor. A++
