A busy life meant that I had 7 weeks to arrange my whole wedding and the City Rooms were so helpful in accommodating me and my husband! We have just held an extremely successful fundraising ball at The City Rooms. ||||This would not have been possible without the support of all the staff at this elegant period venue. Sandy, our Event Manager, was always there promptly to guide and advise us. While we set up and decorated the ballroom during the day, people were on hand to help. The food was tasty and hot - many thanks to the kitchen staff. Stayed here in 2 rooms for my Daughter's graduation.||The rooms are lovely, clean and modern with a huge bathroom.||Extra snacks are provided with a mini fridge, fan, a home from home. ||Ear plugs are also provided for the nearby clock but this was not a problem.||Beds are comfortable, staff are very helpful.||This is an old building but has a very modern twist, beware there are steep stairs to navigate up to the rooms which could be difficult for some travellers,||Breakfast is not provided but lots of information is left with a discount code to the local area.||The reception is staffed until 8pm then you have a contact number if required. My only negative was having to move my car in the morning although I requested an hour to locate some breakfast.||Great hotel and would certainly stay here again if in Leicester. More...

WOW what a great day! ||||We booked The City Rooms for our wedding 2 years ago, everything was very well organised from the start, we had our own wedding coordinator who was on hand at every demand. ||||We had an idea of how and what we wanted for our special day and Sandy helped with putting it altogether perfectly. We booked The City Rooms for our wedding over the Easter weekend despite us living quite some distance away. From our first visit literally nothing was too much trouble for the team. We had a million questions and popped in every time we were in the area (often with little - or no! - notice) and they never once made us feel as though they were anything but thrilled to see us. Because we live a couple of hundred miles away, a lot of the planning was by email or over the phone. I was a bit concerned initially but I needn't have been, the team at The City Rooms were so professional and on the ball. ||||We were looked after initially by Bronwyn, and then later by Lianna. I literally cannot speak highly enough of both these ladies. They both looked after us as though we were personal friends (so much so, that we both feel like they are personal friends now!)||||The day itself was just magical. The venue is both grand and personal - a real 'wow' place to get married. The food was delicious and people are STILL complimenting us on it weeks later. I can't stress this enough - THE FOOD IS AMAZING! On the day we had both Lianna and the fabulous Rosie looking after our every need. They offered suggestions without dictating, calmed us both down, prompted us when we needed it, had a giggle with us, smoothed out some minor problems, offered tissues, got us drinks, fetched my handbag, chatted with our guests and generally were on our team for the whole day. I am not mentioning by name - and I apologise for it - all the other brilliant staff members who were there during the day and evening, helping and prompting us as we needed it - thank you guys.||||A wedding is a once in a lifetime occasion. It costs a lot of money and you want to make sure you're doing it in the absolute right venue for you. I had my wedding celebrations at the City Rooms. The venue was in charge of hosting our Civil Ceremony, Afternoon tea and Evening reception. Everything went smoothly and was very well organised and ran right on schedule. A big thanks to Lianna and the rest of the team for attending to our wishes and planning and executing them to perfection. We recently attended a wedding at the City Rooms in Leicester on a Saturday afternoon and night. We had a lovely time, and so did the 75 or so guests, and the couple who got married there. Everything was well organised, the service was good, the food was tasty and fresh and the staff were friendly and smiling.||We do know that our friends who got married there had a lot of help and advise from the City Rooms wedding coordinator, and also had several tasting sessions with the chef. 12 guests attended the Christmas party night last night, what a night to remember, food excellent, live band kept us on the dance floor all night, service superb, special mention to Gemma, who made the night, her customer care and drive was second to none, towards the end of the evening, whilst clearing the tables, 1 of our guests ( slightly drunk) grab her arm to dance, this is how parties should end, everybody enjoying a amazing night together. Booked with city rooms for a graduation ball. What a beautiful venue, it’s lovely. The food spoiled the night, the starter and dessert were ok but the main was terrible, it was so salty, we complained to the manager, and we were told it was the gravy, the manager dealt with the complaint ok offering us 2 bottles of Prosecco but we still felt a little disappointed for the money we paid there was 17 of us ! . On a positive side I think I would visit again, and hopefully the bad meal was just a blip. They also take photos all night which you can get on the face book page free of charge which is really good, and the drinks are a good price too. More...

We had our wedding at The City Rooms Leicester and it was without question the most perfect venue in every way.||The staff are so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. ||We had our ceremony there, our wedding breakfast and evening reception there too.||Because the whole place is yours and you're not sharing it with other guests it has such a unique feeling. ||The location in the heart of the city is perfect and the 3 different event rooms are each unique.||The food was totally outstanding. From the moment I got in touch with Molly at The City Rooms, the level of communication and service has been 5*. We had been toying with different venues but as soon as I visited Molly and viewed the beautiful ballroom I decided it had to be there. ||||We did a fusion indian/english afternoon tea for my mums 60th birthday. They were very accommodating of our requests, from the meal choices to layout/ guest list/ set up on the day. The day itself couldn't have gone smoother. As mentioned by a previous review, the ballroom doesn't need much jazzing up because it already looks fab. A few simples touches and we were ready. The tea service from all members of the staff was great and everyone was friendly. The food itself was also impressive and our guests were all kept happy!!||||The service made the whole event organisation so much easier and for that reason I wouldn't hesitate in recommending The City rooms. We stayed for one night, excellent location for visiting the city. Our room was large with good en suite facilities, the bed was comfortable and the decor ok but very 70s. Its an old building with steep stairs and no lift so probably unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. It is room only so you need to go out for breakfast but this is no problem due to the central location near to several bars and cafes. Fair value for money. Great central location, check in was quick and easy, we where allocated the same room as last time, room was large, well maintained and clean, the bathroom was again large and complemented with high end fixings with all amenities included. ||The reception is only part time manned, you have to buzz in when arriving and then are provided with a key code to the door after that. ||There is free, limited space parking behind the hotel but we have never not been able to park there, take that cost of your stay and the hotel is somewhat of a bargain for a pleasant, central located boutique hotel. City Rooms offers four unique, spacious and stylish rooms in a wonderful historic building, now used as a venue for weddings and events. The rooms are comfortable, and well-equipped, offering a mini fridge and a complimentary snack basket in addition to the usual hospitality tray, hairdryer and iron. My bathroom had a corner bath, with rainforest shower, and was larger than many chain hotel rooms! The welcome was warm and wonderful, and the location is superb for business, leisure or university purposes. The rooms are all on upper floors and the staircases are steep, so not suitable for those with mobility issues or outsize luggage. Attending a ball at the venue, this review is about the venue not the event.||The venue is a stunning building in the centre of Leicester and is often used as a wedding venue. ||Next to the main reception there is a bar, and whilst well stocked I didn’t find it to be too well staffed, service took a long time and the staff had problems pouring a pint without an inch of head on it, however the staff were friendly||Food: well my food was excellent but not everyone faired so well with one of the group having to send their food back two times, but they rectified the problem and made sure everyone was happy so customer service is very good More...

Oh wow where do I start?||The girls at the city rooms provided the best service throughout my entire wedding planning. Both Sandy Riepe and Sarah Bowie made everything run so smoothly.
