Excellent service from Alastair, he's swept our chimney several times now and after the third jackdaw rescue we thought be better have the chimney capped. Alastair had to order the special cap that our chimney needed and came at short notice to fit it. Even as he was climbing his ladder, the jackdaws were sitting on the roof!! He provides a first class service, he is thorough and there is no mess. I would highly recommend you book Alastair , and if you need your chimney swept for the autumn you'd better book today as his diary is already filling up fast! MH Sherston More...

Alistair came to us to tackle a difficult task in an old house. He immmediately understood the problem and he tackled it with a measured and confident approach. The result? Perfect! All was restored to normal, I was expecting to do the ‘big clean up’ but no need. The place where he worked was immaculate. Alistair is a professional in his work and I would be delighted to recommend him in the future. I wish him continued success in his work. More...

Alistair arrived on time (always a bonus). My woodburning stove and chimney were thoroughly inspected and cleaned to my complete satisfaction, leaving the area clean and tidy. There were a couple of issues with the stove, one of them being the firebrick at the back of the stove was broken (which I hadn't realised) and the same evening, I received a quote for a replacement. Alistair spent longer than the allotted time trying to assist me with another issue with the stove and will be returning to replace another part at another date. I highly recommend Mr Kemp. More...

Excellent service, prompt, friendly and very reassuring. After rescuing a trapped Jackdaw from the lounge chimney and sweeping this, whilst putting cover on top it was discovered I had a Jackdaws nest in an unused 2nd chimney. This cannot be removed until chicks have fledged but Alastair has gone out of his way to reassure me that the birds cannot come into the house and that the issue can be resolved once nest empty. Highly recommend. More...

What do you love most about your job?
Working locally with local people who share the love of a real fire.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having worked for 30 years in the police I was looking for a career that was varied and challenging. I have for a long time been involved in property improvement and maintenance; this coupled with my enjoyment of my own fires and an interest in sustainable living led to me training as a chimney sweep in March 2016. I work as a family business so that I can provide a high level of personal customer service.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am accredited by the Guild of Master Sweeps and HETAS. Both are highly respected and leading organisations in the solid fuel industry. Additionally, I am also qualified to install and repair stoves and liners. Insurance recognised certificates are issued and am happy to take time to resolve any issues you may be having or to give advice in regard to how best to use and fuel your fire.
