We visited last night for a christmas do and it was so lovely. Although we had requested dietary requirements this hadn't been passed on to the chefs, but the staff were fantastic! Lovely meal at the Chequers this eve. Husband was adamant he wanted a roast and it didn’t disappoint, the children enjoyed their miniature roasts too. Flew in from m Vienna and had breakfast on the 17th. The South Afrikaan waiter was a delight and funny at 930am we had a laugh over 'warm and comfortable'. Thankyou! We were served by a lovely young waitress who found me a Mug, albeit the bosses mug and served me my breakfast tea. I always say, if a restaurant can accommodate these types of request... 'can I have a mug of tea' instead of a cup, then I can highly recommend the restaurant as a friendly and helpful one. Spot on as always. Had the best Steak and Kidney Pie I’ve ever had today. Highly recommend it if it’s on the specials again. Should be popped on the main menu. I was there last night, 21st October 2017 with a large party celebrating an 80th Birthday. The food was fabulous. Hot and extremely tasty. I had roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding. The beef was so tender and the Yorkshire was home made, none of the frozen rubbish sometimes used. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Well done. Will hopefully visit again. More...
