Wow what a surprise find! Was looking for a bakery in Huntington Beach and stumbled across the cake box hidden and under renovations. Had my reservations as to how the baked goods would be. We needed a unique but elegant cake for an engagement party, and our BrideZilla was ever so particular about every detail, including said cake!  I went down the the bakery and met with Cynthia and she was able to sit down with me and bring our vision to life.  They were able to print our custom images onto the face of the cake and then build beautiful decorative touches that finished it perfectly.  I was able to pickup the cake on time and all of my questions and concerns were addressed via email and phone.  I would refer anyone to The Cake Box for your custom cake needs, they are true artisans and provide personal service that makes you feel like your part of the family! The Cake Box is a landmark in Huntington Beach. They have THE most amazing custom-made cakes I've ever seen, and their cookies and pastries are simply fabulous. My favorite cookie is the sea salt chocolate-chip. You have to get in pretty early to grab a few because they sell out quickly! I love this place. My father has gone here for many years and said for my Wedding the one thing he asks is for The Cake Box to do the cake. And we got an amazing cake, cupcakes and macaroons. I cannot wait to order this cake again for my husbands birthday (he loved it so much). And those macaroons are such a hit. People seriously went hunting on tables for those who were not claiming their macaroons!Cake was the best as funfetti with yes frozen strawberries (tastes better than the fresh ones for the texture), and a light cream frosting inside. Plus the outside frosting! YUMMY.  These bakers have been around to know what is good. love the neighborhood feel/vibe they give off. Will definitely be back. I ordered a custom cake for a family birthday.  Chocolate with chocolate mousse frosting.  It was ready for me in two days, as promised.  It was delicious!  I was just sorry I had ordered their smallest cake so there was very little left after 5 people had it.  I will definitely order my cakes from Cake Box. I had originally tried to order a cake on Thursday, for pick up on Monday, from a local competitor (another bakery, on the same street, I have used many times).  They were "too busy" to even take my order!  Whaaaaat  That is just not a wise response.  When I called The Cake Box, she took my order right away, and they had no problem promising it for Monday.  So now I have found a new, better bakery to take my business to. Ordered a 2 tier 60th birthday cake with buttercream frosting; chocolate with raspberry filling on top and vanilla with vanilla filling on bottom layer and it was absolutely delicious! !! Better than Albertsons or Costco because it had a wonderful crumb consistency that was homemade-like and not gummy which many commercial cakes are.  (Perhaps this is why some reviews say cake is dry, I loved the consistency.)  I also loved that it wasn't too sweet; which made it dangerous because you just want to keep eating it. Well, they did it again! They made me another beautiful amd delicious cake that surpassed my high expectations. Additionally, they did it quickly as I ordered my cake 2 days before I needed it. I called because I went to the Torrance Bakery and was floored when they wanted me to pay $350.00 for a cake for my daughters Baby Shower. The cake was to be a onesie. The filling was fresh strawberry mousse. The flavor was a so so and I could not do it. I called The Cake Box because it had great reviews and was close to my house. They made a beautiful cake. I have all the raves for the Cake Box.  The Cake Box is the best!  Paul and I have I have been emailing each other for a few days & finally last Monday I decided on a wedding cake for my step son's wedding.  The cake I selected was perfect since the setting was Laguna Beach.  We picked up the cake last Saturday 10/7 and it has chocolate seashells and chocolate custard filling.  I will definitely go back to the Cake Box for my daughter's baby shower.  The Cakebox is a gem here in Huntington Beach! The Cake Box really saved me when I had a near-disaster for my special event. I had purchased a tiered cake from another location and when the top tier slid and collapsed, I panicked. I drove by and saw the Cake Box, and asked them if they could fix my cake. Irene stepped up and saved the day!! She fixed my cake, assessed what had failed in the first place, gave me excellent advice on how to travel with it, and made it look beautiful again. And this was all done on a very short timeline. SO happy with my cake, and the customer service I received!  Thank you SO much to Laura and The Cake Box team!  I placed an order by phone on a Friday afternoon(! ) for a personalized cake for that Sunday.  I KNEW it was VERY last minute, but was hoping someone could do it.  All the other places, except one, said they couldn't do it without a week or several weeks' notice.  Laura was very helpful.  Though they were closed on Sunday, she offered to make it for a Saturday afternoon pick-up.  I emailed her a picture of my invitation, and told her that I would like the cake to fit the theme, but that I understood we didn't really have time for fancy fondant decorations.  She worked with me over the phone to come up with a time-saving, but cute solution.  Honestly, since I'm usually very micro-managing about my cake orders (down to photoshopped notes and changes sometimes), I was afraid that it wouldn't turn out that great.  I was very happy with the result!!!  It definitely added to the party!  And the chocolate with custard/whipped cream filling was delicious!  Thank you again to the whole team at The Cake Box!  You really made me feel like you cared to help out with your customer's needs.
