We booked two rooms in the main building, both of which were comfortable, but one of which (with the bedroom in the attic) would be completely unsuitable for someone with slightly limited mobility. The car park was full on arrival (there would have been two free spaces if other people had parked considerately), but there is a large public car park behind the property where there were plenty of spaces. We had dinner in the pub, which was good (rather than exceptional) and breakfast the next morning was also good. Overall an enjoyable stay. More...

What can we say, the Bell is a very special wedding venue, made even more special by the quality of its staff, accommodation, food, and drink it has to offer! We were married, dined, partied, and stayed at the Bell on our wedding day, and had the most fantastic time! A great place for a pint after a day's work. But be careful seating is lacking during the busy hours. If there's a wedding on you'll be fighting your way to the bar. We booked a room for 2 nights for a chilled weekend away from the city. Such a lovely inn located in a small village, we were so pleased that we picked this place. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food and drinks were great. Everything was really amazing, nonemoreso than the room, which was truly special. Our spacious room had a beautiful rustic theme, with a rolled copper bath, which was big enough for 2. The bed was huge and comfortable, with lovely sheets and pillows. Had a one night stay here just for a break and it’s a great little village pub. Big open fire in the bar, great ales and good food. |We stayed in the room called “Benefit of the doubt” all the rooms are a little quirky but the big copper bath was so nice and the room was big and spacious. Beautiful and quirky ❤️ we absolutely loved our stay at the bell 'apparently'! On arrival we had a very warm welcome, the room was amazing and very spacious even with the Z bed for our daughter. The balcony was a very pleasant surprise and gave us that little extra feeling of space. Our bathroom was gorgeous with a deep bath surrounded by vintage tiles.Our bed was incredibly soft and comfy.We had breakfast downstairs in the restaurant/bar area which was wonderful.We highly recommend staying at this fabulous place!Will certainly be back again soon! We had our wedding at the Bell in October 2019 and it was the most wonderful day. The staff are amazing, they are so helpful and professional and really made the day go without a hitch. All our guests loved their accommodation , the decor is quirky and comfortable and the food was amazing. My wife and I stopped here for a bite to eat after visiting ‘Batemans’, the home of Rudyard Kipling. A lovely place. Very attentive staff and lovely food. Nothing seemed to be any trouble.
