I saw Courtney for the first time yesterday. She was amazing. She was nice, thoughtful, talented and made my hair fabulous with balayage and other things she did. It was relaxing and I didn’t feel rushed and I didn’t feel like she was either. I had a great experience and i will continue to see her ! . My hair was silky and smelled fabulous too. Rachel and her assistant Taylor are so awesome!! I was in shock/speechless at how awesome my hair turned out! I seriously couldn't stop looking at my hair when it was being blow dried. This place is a gem. As soon as walking in I was greeted. Friendly front desk person. Not long after that I met with my stylist ALINE. Best salon I've been to yet. I booked an appointment online with Michelle. They actually ask you to provide information and pictures of your hair the way it looks now and pictures of how you'd like to have it done. Based on what I sent, Michelle sent me a very nice email referring me to Courtney. Not because Michelle was blowing me off, but because Courtney specializes in curly hair. She truly does. My hair was a long, frizzy mess. She listened to me and was the first hairdresser to tell me that I could indeed have a curly bob. That my hair, although thinner than in younger days, was thick enough. She did a great job. Another thing I liked is Courtney didn't push any products on me. This is more money than I normally spend and I didn't want the stress of saying no to hair product suggestions. I appreciated her not putting me in that awkward position. All of the staff is friendly. Courtney offered a drink before she started, which was very nice. Before I left, Michelle introduced herself and wanted to make sure I didn't feel insulted that she referred me to Courtney. I highly recommend Aline!  I have seen her twice now for a color and cut. She does an amazing job. I was recommended The Beauty Lounge via a fb group I'm in. After reading reviews on Yelp I decided to schedule an appointment with Michelle. She didn't disappoint! Very friendly and conversational. She definitely seemed to know what she was talking about, and gave me a cute cut as well! Also she was super quick! It usually takes stylist 1.5 hours to wash, cut, dry and style my hair. The Beauty Lounge is the cutest salon up in the Woodlands area. I had my appt with Michelle and she's the best! I got balayage before at another salon in the Spring area and left unhappy as the hair stylist basically did highlights vs. balayage. Michelle made me feel really comfortable during the entire appt and always let me know step by step what she was doing, how long the processing time would take and basically what to expect during the whole process. I really appreciated that. The end result was nothing short of amazing! The cut is exactly what i asked for and the balayage color is perfect!! Over the past 4 years, I tried 4 different hair stylists. Some did some things very well, others not so much. Overall, even with the best stylists, I normally felt like I wasn't being listened to, not given suggestions on what works best with my hair, and normally talked into cuts or colors I really didn't want. My last haircut in December was horrible; it was incredibly uneven and instead of receiving the layers I asked for, I got a giant shelf across the back of my head.I called The Beauty Lounge, described my issues (including wanting to eventually do some color correction for a terrible blonde dye job I got 3-4 years ago that is still growing out), and they set me up with Michelle. HOLY COW WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. First off, she's SO friendly and welcoming. There's nothing more awkward than going to a new salon with a new stylist and trying to make small talk, but nothing was awkward with her or the entire experience. We talked about what I wanted my hair to eventually be and she walked me through the steps we'll need to take to get there. I'm not joking, this is the best hair cut I've gotten in my 27 years of living. She took a raggedy, uneven head of hair and made it beautiful. She LISTENED to me, she gave me suggestions, and she somehow took all my words, found my vision, and created it. She also taught me how to apply the products she suggested and the technique to curl my hair to create the look I want. I'm so incredibly happy that I was fighting back tears when she finished. I've been in TX for nearly 7 months. Normally, within a social network, I'd have no problem finding someone to do my hair. But, I don't have many reference points here, so I had to take a chance.The first time with a completely different stylist in another part of Houston, the stylist ran through my long, fine and wet hair with a fine tooth comb, yanking and pulling all the way. She never spoke, never smiled. I'm unsure how she gets repeat business.Imagine my delight when I met Aline! She did such a superb job on my color, and has a gentle hand. This salon is the best. Absolutely love the team Rachel has put together! Rachel Butler and Michelle Kennedy have both colored and cut my hair. Both did a fabulous job! Highly recommend checking out this salon right in the heart of The Woodlands! I visited last Friday to do balayage, root touch up and a haircut. I was so happy when I saw the finished results! Michelle did a fabulous job! I love hanging in the salon- so many cute clothes, accessories and you can sip a mimosa or coffee while your hair is processing! If you are in the woodlands area I highly recommend you checking this place out! Nikki Wann is the on-site esthetician. She is so calming and helps you feel at ease if you are a baby like I am. I had a cut and balayage with Michelle.  She is a young, fun stylist who seems to know a lot about the latest trends, cuts, etc.  I am really happy with how my color and cut turned out and think I've found a keeper for my hair in The Woodlands!The salon is expanding which I think is great since it was a little small in there.  The back area of the salon is very sleek and modern which is what I like.  Unfortunately, they are super cluttered up front with a boutique, religious signs, etc.  I guess this is kind of the norm for this area but I do think it takes away from the atmosphere of a salon, IMO. A friend and I were in town for a family reunion and needed professional make-up done on short notice - only about a week in advance; our makeup turned out great! I was able to book two appointments at the same time; Courtney Stiles styled my friend, and Brittany Merritt did my make-up. My friend and I came in with very clear examples of what we wanted (very light make-up, natural look, pretty enough for professional photos, and I also had photos of styles I like), but I am brunette, brown eyes, with olive skin while my friend is very fair with blonde hair and blue eyes. Both Courtney and Brittany did a beautiful job on each of us! Brittany looked through the sample photos I had and listened to my description and she got it right away - she summed it up by saying, "You want a natural glow, light eyes, and bold lip." And she hit the mark! It felt like she was using a lot of products on me but in the end, it was a beautiful, glowy look - and everything, especially the beautiful lipstick she applied, lasted all night, from 4 pm to midnight (through photos, cocktails, and dinner). Also, the salon is very nice (plenty of beverages and snacks as well as nice jewelry and other items for shopping) and is in a great location (we had lunch at Bellagreen, a few doors down, before our appointments).I highly recommend Courtney and Brittany at The Beauty Lounge! Beauty Lounge will supersede your expectations from entering, during service and leaving. Rachel is BEYOND an expert at what she does, meticulous and precise!! Love her!!
