Julia was such a pleasure to work with. We had originally turned down the venue as we were on a very tight budget, but Julia was so helpful and understanding; she sent us promotions and helped us pick a package to make our day as affordable as possible, while not sacrificing anything. The Barn has such a wonderful, rustic atmosphere. The high ceilings, exposed wood beams, hanging string lights, stone fireplaces. Just beautiful. We also love that they support local for all their vendors, and we kept with that theme for all other aspects of our wedding. Booking The Barn was stress free (especially when you're planning a wedding in less than 7 months!) as their packages include almost everything you need, and what's not included, they can point you in the right direction with recommendations. I had so many guests telling me how beautiful the venue was. It suited us perfectly. I wasn't sold on the ceremony location as I had always imaged something completely different, but I was in love with the reception location. I expressed my concerns and Julia managed to make the ceremony location absolutely perfect for us! As for the food, we opted for a cocktail reception as we wanted things more casual and laid-back. OH.MY.GOD. Everything I tried was delicious. They also had no problem tweaking some of the food to cater to my gluten free/dairy guests. Julia and her team are just simply amazing! We got married this past Saturday at the barn with their partnership with the Mill of Kintail for the ceremony! Julia was always there to listen to our needs from day 1 ! She wants you to enjoy your special day and it shows! Everything was perfectly organized during the upcoming months, she never got impatient when you had last minute changes (because we often change our minds last minute for little things.. :) ) Julia was flexible and permitted us to come decorate two days before, this took a lot of stress off our shoulders! The night was amazing , we got the dance floor on and running till 1 am thanks to the in house DJ they include in their package! The caterer Sandees’s country kitchen is simply amazing as well! Beautiful venue. The way the bride enters from above the assembly is unique and allows for her to be seen in her full glory! Every bride deserves an entry like this. My relationship with the BARN started last summer when I meet with Julia about renting the venue for an events show . AT that point I was impressed with the Rustic Venue and I immediately felt that I had to Bring my Ladies of the Tay Event company to this Place for a Direct sale show . I discussed it with Julia and some how felt very confident that we could make it happen . Immediately I felt that Julia would be there side by side with me to make it happen . There wasn't a problem when I asked for a time change and for the Bar to be open as I decided on this new concept Sip & Shop . Again Julia was very confident and told me she that WE could make it happen . And yesterday you know what Julia was right it happened , It happened well and will happen again. I have never rented a venue before where the venue owner was so invested in my success of my shows . It was so Nice . We worked as a team and I was so pleased with everything that I will definitely rent The BARN again from Julia. I gave Julia and the BARN a 5 star if there was a 10 star I would give it too. The venue was impeccable the customer service was unbelievable . Thanks Julia for such a wonderful Venue and such awesome customer service for going above and beyond . The Mother's day Brunch today was a 5 star event! The food was an all you could eat buffet and delicious. The beef was a delicate flavour, moist and tender. I was one of the fortunate customers from Valentine's Day who went to the "dinner re-do" and boy, am I ever glad I went!
! The service was excellent, the food was yet again tasty and the entertainment was exquisite!
It's really amazing how a place I had a hard time giving 2 stars because a place I have a hard time give less than 5 stars.

We attended the Valentines Dinner and had a the same negative experience as the other reviewers. When something like this goes wrong, the handling of it is so important, and that is why I am giving 5 stars now. To offer a complimentary event to compensate for the issues of the night must have been a great cost for the owner. They went way above my expectations with the complimentary buffet they recently hosted! It was a lovely night and we were very impressed at how they took care to resolve this. My wife and I attended the 5:00 PM seating of The Barn's Valentine's Day event. Our waitress introduced herself, and offered us the cocktail included in the package.
We asked for, and received, a glass of wine and a draught beer in decent time.
Each course of the meal was served at a nice pace, allowing time between to settle. The butternut squash soup and the salad very nicely set up the main course. We had the beef wellington, and it was served hot and delicious. The dessert platter was simply amazing.
I was very impressed with the young lady who entertained us. Her interpretation of the mix of blues, jazz and popular songs were stellar, and at a perfect volume where we could talk or sit back and enjoy her music. I would like to know her name, and possibly follow her.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience, and would highly recommend it to friends and family. I can't wait for another special occasion to attend!

We attended an event here in early February with a gathering of close to 100 folks. The warmth and character of this building alone was immense and very welcoming which was a huge start to a fabulous event for old and new friends. The ambience, the events such as raffles, auctions, awards/presentations, a yummy catered buffet and DJ to finish the night all contributed to many more cherished memories with lifelong friends �. If I could give them more stars I would. We had our wedding at The Barn and everything from was amazing. The planning process was so easy thanks to Julia and her team. They took care of most of the coordination between vendors, answered my millions of questions, and helped every step of the way. THEN our wedding day. The power went out 5 minutes before the ceremony and before I could even get worried the staff were busting their butts to get candles and battery powered lights downstairs for us. We were married in the dark, and by the time the ceremony was over Julia had outhouses and a generator on the way. Thankfully the power restored for the reception, I want worried for a minute. They handled the whole thing like champs and I have nothing but praise for The Barn and all of their staff. More...
