Overdag genieten van de prachtige natuur en bouwwerken stadjes en ruiinesen dan genieten van heerlijke visgerechten of iets anders in 1 van de restaurants in bantrey en savonds een concert. There is something oddly satisfying about getting a large chunky key on a solid leather key fob for your hotel room. It’s like stepping back in time and Bantry provides plenty of old world charm. The room was very bright and clean with a comfortable bed. The water pressure in the shower was less than ideal but that’s just a minor quibble. The hotel is in a great location so after hitting a few spots in town we were just steps away from our room. After a great nights sleep we were served a delicious breakfast, full Irish for me Eggs Benedict for my wife. The Irish breakfast was cooked perfectly and my wife said the Benedict was among the best she’s ever had. All of this combined with a friendly and helpful staff make this the perfect spot for a weekend getaway or a stop off along the Wild Atlantic Way. More...

Bantry was a tender port on our cruise. While waiting on the pier for the shuttle van to take us the few blocks to town, we watched as fishermen brought buckets and buckets of mussels up to the dock. Later we went to The Bantry Bay for lunch and I'm positive the mussels were from those buckets. They were the best we have ever had and I can't imagine ever having better.
