I spend 50% of the year in hotels around the country and usually stay in the high street kind of places, your Premier Inns or Village Hotels etc but I fancied a change and wasn’t disappointed. The room was clean and tidy with the added bonus or a couple of biscuits each day. The bar/restaurant was warm, comforting and welcoming. Food was excellently priced, cooked to order and very nice. The bar itself had a lovely ambience and good selection of beers, spirits and snacks.I have recommended The Oak to several friends who live in the area to try out their menu.. More...

Just an overnight stay to visit friends nearby. The weather was wet and cold, and we couldn’t get the heating to stay on for longer than 5 minutes at a time, so the room wasn’t very warm. The bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean . Typical hotel breakfasts, both continental and cooked, nothing to complain about. We would come again, and hope for better weather. More...

My husband and I stopped over here on route home to South Wales. This is a lovely hotel, a lovely quiet location. When we stopped there the staff we spoke to were really welcoming and we received a good service. We had a lovely clean room and we stopped for breakfast. The only thing I can see what was wrong was the price of the breakfast. We thought that it was over priced for what we received. Also when we were sleeping, people coming into the accommodation late in the night choose to slam their room doors, giving no consideration to others and as a result we were woken out of a deep sleep and also they disturbed our dogs. We booked for a party of fourteen, and although we arrived early it was no issue for the staff who showed us to our table where there was plenty of room.
