I have attended the workshop for several years now and have never imagined how my life skills would change so much to the positive. Through the work shop sessions numerous topics have been covered, from starting out on an actors journey, to learning essential acting skills through to different acting modules. I have also used my skills as part of my role in the health services. I've returned to acting after a long absence. While my return might have been awkward and intimidating, I was welcomed into The AW and made to feel comfortable immediately. The people that attend are genuine and open with one another. There is no sense of competition, but rather an eagerness to grow as a collective. Tim is a passionate instructor that offers invaluable advice and direction. And he's honest which is what we we all want if we want to improve. This is incredible value for money. A safe space where we can gather each week in small groups to practice and receive expertise. Cannot begin to think what this would cost in London. Tim is giving actors the gift of accessibility. The actors workshop in Nottingham is perfect for any goal, whether you're looking to become a professional actor or looking to improve confidence. I attended the Monday evening slot, learnt a great deal about myself and made some amazing friends. Wow! This group has honestly helped me succeed in so many ways. I've been to so many different groups and having loved all of them. .. I'm so happy to be a part of the Actors Workshop! It's like being part of a massive family. The teachers are really nice and understanding.. each class is so intresting and other people are so friendly and it's good to also educate yourself in terms of play wrights, techniques and just improving skills physically and mentally. I've been coming along for a couple.of months now and I can tell you, I love it!I'm just starting to get to know the guys and to feel confident in my ability. I feel like I can now openly share ideas with the group when doing sessions and the sessions help in my confidance generally which i did not expect. I try to take in all hints and tips, and this is a great place to learn and harness the craft. Its a great starting base for actors new to the acting role, and the additional workshops, where there are guest speakers present like casting directors ect really helps and inspires you. I've always wanted to get into acting, and although I've only done stage work with a community theatre group, I quickly felt comfortable.I recommend this to anyone wishing to learn more or begin acting. After attending my first taster session on the 10th July 2018, I haven't looked back since. I love attending these sessions every Monday. If I could, I would attend everyday! I have made some great friends and already have noticed a boost in my confidence. I have always wanted to find my own hobby and this is perfect for me. Not only am I learning new acting skills, this group helps to boost my self-esteem. As a beginner in acting - I felt very welcomed and accepted by the group. I have already made some recommendations to friends, family and colleagues. I would strongly recommend attending a taster session as it really is a great workshop! Learned a lot from the first one I went to but went again as my husband wanted to go. So glad I did as I got even more out of the day and learned that I could do more voice over types and was more relaxed recording them!
