Thaxton Martial Arts teaches the Art of Isshin-ryuKarate which was created by Master Tatsuo Shimabuku of Okinawa, and taught to the U.S. Marines Corp. Our form of Isshin-ryu Karate is also called American IsshinryuKarate. In our program you will learn the Isshinryu system of self-defense and exercise.

Thaxton Martial Arts teaches the art of Ishinryu karate. This includes but is not limited to, Katas (special forms that teach discipline, balance, breathing exercises, and strength), upper and lower body movements, self defense, knife training, and sparring. The owners are extremely kind and well-mannered, and will go out their way to make sure each student masters the art.
