This place is amazing! The best massage center in Bloomington! The staff are friendly, accommodating, and professional! They will explain the process to you, or just let you enjoy the massage; depending on how you prefer to enjoy the experience. That's the Rub also is extremely welcoming! From the front staff and the convenient online scheduling to the Massage itself I experienced great customer focus. Chris was my therapist and provided a therapeutic massage. He focused exactly on the areas of concern and I felt immediate and lasting improvement. He is very well in tune with muscles and tensions and has great technique. I want you all to go somewhere else (so I don't have to wait in line for a spot at That's the Rub). :-)   The Rub is flawless. I've been going there for years. I've had my favorite therapist, but they've all been consistent. The greeters are always friendly, the owner is always pleasant, and everyone is professional. It's the perfect downtown location and (most of all) it's "quiet"!  I highly recommend the LaLa massage if you're looking to simply relax. I fall to sleep every time! I felt pampered tonight during my 2 hour massage, I was not expecting 2 hours, I knew we were getting massages but I only thought they were an hour each, while in the room with Kara I was informed that I was getting a 2 hour massage! I enjoyed every minute of it, and it was worth every penny spent on it! Anyone looking for a massage, shoul d check out That's the rub! they have an extensive menu of services to chose from, my next appointment is for a facial in September and I cannot wait! Thanks for the great experience! for those checking reviews: if you are not sure, or have never been or had a massage, or skeptical of what will happen. They are extremely professional and cater to your needs, it's all in the experience, you are greated with a smail and a kind heart from every employee, they are knowledgeable, they make you feel comfortable. Once you get past the spa storefront you a lead down a hallway to a lobby that is locked, so you know your provacy is important, you sit for a short time awaiting your LMT to come get you, then are shown to your room and given privacy to dress as you desire for the massage, a robe is provided, they return and your session starts, at the end you return to the lobby which again can only be entered from the outside hall by a keyholder and you are not rushed, you are offered water or tea and may sit, relax and sip it or head out to the storefront to shop and pay for your service of the day. I was in town for summer school and rewarded myself with a 60-minute deep tissue massage with Kara. By far, my experience was the best massage I ever had in my life. She did really interesting techniques, especially for my face and upper chest that I'd never experienced before. If I had had more time in Bloomington, I would've been back in a heartbeat! I was very happy with my time with Kara. As a first-time visitor, I was thinking about an “intake” meeting, to discuss my issues and goals, and which of your members would be most appropriate. The questionnaire did some of that, but would have been more useful if I had been given it before hand (electronically even) and had had more time to fill it out. Tough place to review. Just kidding, I didn't have to think twice about giving 5 stars. Frankly speaking, this is one of the better places to get a massage in the Bloomington area. There is a huge variety of services and I'm sure anyone can find something they enjoy. That being said, it's a bit pricey. Of course, it's always a good feeling to be supporting local businesses. i had a GREAT experience here. This was my first real professional massage where you get naked and i don't think it could have gone better. i came from california to visit a friend for spring break and i treated her for her birthday. we both got hour long lala massages. the wait time was brief and i had an excellent/thorough conversation with my masseuse over my body and needs; places that needed extra attention (like my shoulders from having terrible posture) and places that were more sensitive. i went in feeling really safe and there was hot tea waiting for me when i came out. i would def consider coming here again if/when i'm back out in bloomington. Both times I went it was very professional and the masseuses helped answer all my questions throughout the massage, even giving me some advice on how I should take care of my body to avoid injury/stress/tension. Very patient people and overall had a safe, relaxing vibe. You might have to ask for your tea at the end because they'll forget to give it to you. I occasionally visit Thats The Rub in general, and have always liked them. However, in October I got in a car accident and have had a lot of lower back and hip pain, so I have been visiting more often. Emily S. has been my therapist and she is the BEST massage therapist I have ever had. She has made a wonderful difference in my massage experience and is very helpful for me in my recovery. I was so pleased with the ease of booking online, the kind staff, and the incredible massage at That's the Rub. My massage was with Gabrielle and she made me feel so comfortable and really took the time to understand what tension issues I've been having in order to personalize the service. The main reason I come here is for Carla. She used to work somewhere else, and when she came to TTR, I followed. She's a top-notch esthetician and makes an effort to get to personally know her clients. And of course, she pays attention to detail with brows and makes sure you leave happy.
