Leigh had provided me quotes for 4 jobs over 2 properties and these jobs would have taken approx 12 days. These jobs are
rear and front fence installation, front garden landscaped and sleeper steps installed.
Leigh had slowly started the work however this progress was heavily distracted by high levels of talking between Leigh and his co worker.
During the work we experienced bad weather which delayed the work by a couple of days, which I have factored in, which would have extended the work by a week at the most.
Leigh had mentioned to me that he had a another job starting on 1 March and assured me that all my work would be completed the before this date. However Leigh as not returned to our job since 26th February without any notification despite numerous attempts from myself to find out if he was ok and what had happened via text and phone calls but NO response. Now being 6 weeks have now passed and NO jobs are fully completed.
This left myself and especially my neighbour aged over 65 distressed and having to find another landscaper to complete the work incurring additional costs - this I find very unacceptable.
I feel that Leigh has a lack of time and project management skills for larger pieces of work, having said this most of the work that Leigh started was to a reasonable standard.

Firstly, we finished the rear fence perfectly, you were happy with no problem. I spoke with you every step of the way as to any concerns. Secondly I finished the front fence after you changing the design many times, adding extra materials such as gravel boards that you were not prepared to pay extra for, something I didn’t budget for, so it came out of my own pocket, which I honoured. When the front fence was complete you decided to part-pay me whilst adding an extra job on for me to complete to get my final payment, which was £80 left. Alarm bells rang! I messaged to tell you this twice but you overlooked my concern. I paid for all materials to the tune of £700. I managed to retrieve £1000 for this after three weeks working but eventually got it in cash, that means I picked up £300 for three weeks work. This left me in a predicament with my finances because I then had to find time to put the money in the bank and earn some money quickly to fill in the shortfall. I never get paid cash, let alone £1000. I gave up the other £1000 of labour due to my concern of not getting paid properly! We had a full week of snow and below freezing temperatures, not two days! If my work colleague and I chat too much, I’d ask the question, how would you know 🤔 and is that such a crime. I explained the logistics of the job as it was tooing and frowing to utilise the skip, while both jobs were on a 40 degree gradient so no job could be finished properly until the end. The £1000 left from the job will more than cover the two days left to complete the project. So you will Not be out of pocket by any stretch of the imagination. If anything you and your neighbour will be quids in due to all the prep work I’ve done. I’d recommend paying the next landscaper the full amount for what he’s earned.

We have a rental property where the previous tenant left the garden in a real mess...rubbish everywhere, completely overgrown, the ground was all uneven because of buried rubbish and the fence at the bottom of the garden was broken.
Leigh was quick to contact us about the job, turned up on time to look at the job and quote. He guided us through what would be the best options to turn it back into a basic tidy garden.
We hired him as he was very personable, helpful and reasonably priced.
He turned up on time for the actual job also, finished it in the timeframe he said he would and did an excellent job.
We now have a basic (which is what we wanted), clean and tidy garden with a nice flat lawn and a nice new fence and gate at the bottom of the garden.
Would certainly recommend Leigh and will be contacting for any of our futre gardening needs.
