This is the owner of this business. This is who she really is. An anti-Semitic, abusive person.

I had replied to an unsolicited email from a rescue, "What kind of training does the rescue use now? " And I was told positive, yet when I went to see, it showed some trainers who turned out not to be, Tecla being one.

When I asked the rescue about this, they became irate and CCed Tecla on the email and this is Tecla's anti-semitic and abusive email to me uploaded here.

People of all minorities should take note and consider what she's probably saying about you. Consider whether this kind of person deserves your money and to be trusted with the welfare of your dog.

This aggressive and aberrant behavior, so easily provoked doesn't bode well for the trials of having patience tested by a dog. On an employee review website, Indeed.com, past employees report that the dogs are sprayed in the face with vinegar- this is acetic acid and very dangerous to mucus membranes. And other dangerous and inhumane atrocities.

This woman is oddly aggressive and not to be trusted.

I'll be leaving reviews elsewhere to warm clients.

We worked one on one with Tecla over the course of nearly a year - meeting 1-3 times a month. Our sweet but nervous and reactive 4 year old dog has completely changed! He’s relaxed and confident. It’s a lot of work & a lot of information in each session. But she gave us all the tools to help him & never hesitated to review/repeat information. Highly recommend if you are ready to make a lifestyle change (not just attend a few training sessions) to help your dog thrive and your relationship with your dog improve! More...

Within just a few hours of returning home after our first Purely Positive Puppy class with Tecla, and putting into practice what she taught, our Lexi was absolutely transformed! I had shared with Tecla that our 3-month-old lab mix had been terrorizing our whole family with her painful biting and jumping up, tearing our skin and clothing. Ever since we got home from our first class, she has been well-behaved; she gets down and sits on command, even when she's excited. Even her mouthing is now gentle, and much reduced overall. She is so pleasant to be with now, and we all have a renewed sense of hope that we can raise a "good" dog with the skills learned in Tecla's class. More...

We were in search of a daycare and training for our 10 week old puppy when stumbled upon Tecla's from a co-worker who could not stop raving about them. We were so happy they would take our puppy for day care so we could start the socialization process early. We have been nothing but happy with the staff and experience. The staff greeted our dog, Zoltar, by name from the second visit and always say good things about her. They even post pictures of your puppy on their facebook page so you can see what they are up to. The staff does a good job of reinforcing training by making sure that the puppies are in a separate environment and are socializing positively. We can tell Zoltar loves going there because she tries to race out of the car when we pull up. She is great with other dogs and we know that having her in daycare from such a young age played a huge role in that. We decided to sign Zoltar up for Purely Positive Puppy with Mary and we are completely blown away by the results. They focus on building a strong relationship with your dog and every single second we have put into training has paid off. She looks to us for directions and knows "who the boss is" and we got to this point through only positive training. Mary takes the time to help each person and their dog individually every class and will also work with you regarding other outside of the class issues that may arise. We will definitely be continuing training in other classes from Tecla's.Lastly, you know that they care about us and our puppy because when Zoltar was in the hospital, everyone was asking how she was and we received phone calls and emails of support. It is clear that they are in the business of being a great business filled with loving and caring people. Thank you Tecla's :) More...

William the conqueror.Tecla's K-9 Academy has been a blessing for us and especially William who is the trainer. We needed to socialize our 125 lbs South African mastiff puppy. We looked everywhere, there were many places that would not even entertain the idea of training a mastiff because "they were too much" and some places stated they did not have "adequate resources".We contacted Tecla's and the staff were and still are professional. Within hours we received an e-mail from William. He was able to assess our puppy and come up with an extensive plan of action.. There are several things that has made our experience absolutely superb. William knows exactly what he is doing, there is no time wasting trying to figure out what to do. William will always go over class time to make sure that all of our questions are answered. This is very important because its not a nice feeling to be rushed and not have all questions answered. As a added bonus, William will e-mail and check to make sure that we are making progress. Lastly, the price of the course is perfect. Its not too much and its very affordable More...

I brought my puppy Cassian for, daycare, kindergraden and just finished basic 1. They are good match for me because they approach training simmilar to how I do with horses. I feel their suggestions are reasonable, knowledgeable, and well balanced. I can see how many first time pet dog owners may feel uncomfortable. They will give you a list of recommended reading. READ IT, preferably before your first class. It will vastly help you understand their methodolgy and make you a better trainer.Downside- more feedback for the humans! Getting a puppy report card for daycare is great, but I would do immensely better helping my puppy learn with more feedback on my mistakes. I'd love a human report card too. Then again I think I have said this to every trainer I have ever worked with. Help us empty our cups of pre-existing knowlege by getting more into the reasoning and why, where, when. Not just the what and how. Also more drills for at home. I ended up drawing from the ground work and basic warmups we use for horses for Cassian for at home drilling. (Serpentine drills on dead end roads, etc) I'm sure others would find those helpful. The best dsys at basic one where we all walked differnt pattens at the same time and negotiated our space. If they do get enough income to upgrade their facility, I would recommemd investing in something to absorb sound. My hearing isnt great and I know I missed things because of it. More...

Tecla's is the best run doggie daycare center I have come across. I have no negative things to say about them and my dog seems to love it. They are strict with her (Dogo Argentino) and know how to treat even exceptional breeds like hers. I would not hesitate recommending this as a great training center and daycare. More...

I cannot say enough good things about Tecla's K-9 Academy. My dog has done daycare, boarding, and multiple training classes and everything has been above my expectation. The staff is passionate about all dogs, young and old, regardless of breed. They truly care about your experience and the dogs. Everytime I need to leave my pup with them I am confident she is safe, secure, and well taken care of. The Eldridge location, in my opinion, is the best facility in the Baltimore area. The training classes are fantastic. Never too much of a knowledge dump so you can keep up, and the instructors are very personable and are willing/able to help you.Bottom line is that if you have a dog(s) and haven't looked into Tecla's K9 Academy, your missing out. Our puppies, Rollo and Huck, have gone to Tecla Academy for daycare each and every day since they were about 4 and 5 months old. Both LOVE the staff and other dogs at daycare. We are always notified if the pups didn't finish food and any other quick updates upon pickup. We love the socialization they are receiving and that they get to run out some of that puppy energy! The puppies also completed the Purely Positive Puppy course which has helped immensely in their journey of learning manners! :) More...

I brought two siblings into my home unaware of the special challenges the littermate situation can present. My vet encouraged me to find another home for one of them, but I'd already fallen in love with both of them and couldn't imagine choosing one to give up. I searched for help and found it in the form of the wonderful team at Tecla's. A year later my vet said she wishes all her dogs were doing this well. Be prepared, much of the training is about you and you'll need to be open to learning new tricks yourself. If you are ready, you'll find everyone here devoted to your dog(s.) My girls found a trusted home away from home and I never worry about them when they are at Tecla's. I found the skills and patience to give my pups a great start and had so much fun doing it, I've started them in rally classes even though I'm the last person I ever could have imagined in rally. I may sound overly passionate, but I truly do believe they allowed me to keep my dogs when no one else thought it was possible.P.S. If you aren't familiar with the world of professional dog training, the surface environment may not at first seem responsive to you the human in ways you might be used to in other worlds. (I heard this from another potential client who was frustrated that a staff member was was watching a video on her iPhone and then gave her feedback about the way she was managing her dog. Hang in there, the work they do is focused on one dog and one owner at a time. When it is your turn, you and your dog will get their absolute attention. The work they do requires that they (and you) stick with the dog until the dog gets it. I pointed out that the video the staff member was watching was of the dog she was working with (not a personal video as the client wrongly assumed) and totally part of her focus on the dog and her current client. If you want your dog to do the behaviors when these folks aren't around, you will have to change the way you handle your dog and isn't that what you really want? So, leave your assumptions at the door and enter an amazing place for dogs and the humans who are lucky enough to have found this place. More...
