Hi, my name is Tom Ryan and I am an Academic Coach and Tutor in Boston, Massachusetts. Following my career in Biomedical Research at Boston University School of Medicine, I entered into a journey that allowed me to bring my 20 plus years of experience to the elementary, middle school and high school science education experience.
I am currently engaged in private tutoring with the goal of increased individual student achievement as well as assisting classroom teachers who require the benefits of my background for implementing the required curriculum in the sciences.
Depending on the needs of the client I prepare a personalized format for all tutoring sessions which includes a variety of study aids tailored to the learning style of the individual. These may include Slideshow Presentations or Flash Card Sets of the material as well as Mock Quizzes an Essay Questions. For classroom teachers, I select sections of review texts for my library which provide the essential principles to target during a lesson for our discussions.
Using these and other methods, I have had great success in recent years in my capacity as a tutor and coach and would like to expand my reach to help as many students and teachers as I can.
Doctor Ryans experience in the sciences is extensive, but having that kind of knowledge while great isn't what makes a great coach or tutor.
To me, a great coach is dependent on accurately knowing himself or herself and knowing the characteristics of the person that they work with.

The thing is Doctor Ryans experience in the sciences is extensive, but having that kind of knowledge while great isn't what makes a great coach or tutor. Like I point out.
It's not a "one size fits all" when it comes to coaching, communicating, and leading. This is where Doctor Ryan excels. He really wants to know you understand and comprehend the material- he wants to see you succeed! More...
