Order a Popeye sandwich and Taylor ham and cheese sandwich. Food was very tasty and worth the price. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back again!

This is absolutely my FAVORITE place to grab a quick sandwich!! I'm soooooo glad I live around the corner from this AWESOME establishment! !! Ok so yesterday I ordered an Eggplant Supreme but I wanted it with lettuce, tomato, onion, and oil and vinegar on it. Not something u would normally put on that type of sandwich but the excellent staff at Taste Of Italia of course accommodated me! OMG the sandwich was soooooooo good the way I ordered it!  The next day (today) I had to go back and get the same sandwich again! Sooooooooo good! Excellent little place in Elmwood Park. If you like Italian heroes, you'll love theirs. Or the chicken cutlet with fresh mozzarella (get it with balsamic, you'll thank me) it's one of ny all-time favorite sandwiches. The owners are salt of the earth.

NO ONE makes a sandwich like Taste of Italia. My family has been eating here for almost 50 years (since their old Broadway location). I moved out of NJ 15 years ago and returned for a visit this week. If anything, their sandwiches are even bigger and better than before. We stopped here yesterday for a quick lunch. It was absolutely delicious!! The subs are pretty big and we couldn't even eat the other half. We wrapped them and took them home with us for later. Taste of Italia is an excellent place to eat with friends and family. They provide exquisite service and offer a great variety of options for vegetarians as well. They've been locally open for as long as I remember and never disappoint. Some key menu items to note (for vegetarians like me) are the pizza hero , eggplant parm, mozzarella sticks and much more. Been goin here for years. On rte 4 and now ElmSt. The owner serves great food as well as supports this community! Yes, they serve the high school, as did the original owners on rte4 when I went there. But now they've expanded their menu and have great soups and catering options...IN ADDITION to their sandwiches. Their bread is amazing and their Italian sub, DELISH. Meatballs, YUM! Their chicken cutlet sandwich was always a fave of mine. They now do an amazing breaded eggplant with mozzarella, roasted peppers and balsamic... So good. And their tuna has also been very popular too. I'm getting hungry!!! Haha Needless to say, I'm a towny and have eaten here for many years, both while on rte4 and now on elm st and have always loved their food no matter what location.
