Met Tara today for my first time to do my 2nd ever photo shoot! And from the get go Tara had me feeling soooo relaxed it just came naturally! Tara and Dave photographed our wedding last Friday and I couldn't recommend them highly enough ! I'm not someone who loves the camera but felt instantly at ease with Tara and the boys had heaps of fun with Dave. Thanks Dave & Tara for capturing the special moment I proposed to my Fiancé at Ross Castle in May 2017. I really don't have the right words to describe our experience with Tara and Dave! They are just the most amazing,friendly,go for it people. From the first minute to the last on the day nothing was out of the question. It rained so much that Tara had to get a change of shoes and Dave new socks but you'd never have known that for a second!! Dave seems better at reading the weather than Evelyn Cusack and knew when we would have half an hour to get outside so they whisked us away in their jeep and had us done and dusted before the half hour was up and the heavens opened again,well done Dave! They became part of our day and didn't make any of the posed pictures seem forced which we were dreading.When we mentioned paint balling and zip wiring in our dresses we thought we'd get a funny look but instead they had it all organised in a heartbeat. Had our first experience with Tara and Dave last weekend for our little mans communion. What a great couple really relaxed everyone in only a couple of minutes. Just got my wedding pics back and we could not be happier, they done an amazing job and are seriously talented!
Like honestly I wouldn’t be the most photogenic and usually would cringe when I see pics of myself but I am soooo happy with all the pics, they are better than I could of ever imagined, we love them! They captured so many natural moments throughout the day along with fabulous family shots. I saw the WONDERFUL work herself and her husband Dave did for my friend's wedding two years previous and I simply had to book her! ! From the very beginning, Tara was a pleasure to work with! Emails back and forth were always answered within hours and no question was ever too silly or too much trouble! We booked the full package and we were not disappointed!
We met Tara and Dave at our engagement shoot in September 2017. We wanted our three dogs involved in the shoot so we decided to do it all at our house. The pictures were so natural and really captured the fun and joy that our dogs bring us both! Tara and Dave have a wonderful eye for detail and see photographic opportunities in the most unlikely of places! (Our garage door, garden shed and rickety old garden bridge never looked so good!!) We were immediately put at ease and got into the swing of things in no time! My now husband wouldn't be a huge fan of being in pictures but was delighted with the way it all worked out.
Fast forward to our wedding day. Hurricane Ophelia had arrived on the Monday of our wedding week and we were housebound for the day! The phone lines, WiFi, mobile networks and electricity were all off until the Wednesday! I had to collect wedding dress, booklets, meet priest etc etc during those days and it really was very stressful (though I didn't let on at the time!).
News of Storm Brian came then for the Friday night before our wedding right up to 1pm of the day of our wedding. It was a very stressful Friday night listening to the wind and rain batter my parents house high up on our hill in Ballymakeera!! I kept looking at my dress in the dress bag wondering would I make it to the Gougane Barra Church!
Tara and Dave arrived early on the Saturday morning in the middle of the storm after driving well over an hour in horrendous weather! They were so calm and relaxed and put us completely at ease! They captured some wonderful shots of the morning and this is a real credit to their professionalism because we were confined indoors due to the crazy weather conditions! I'm all for going out in wellies and umbrellas but there really was no way to get out and not be destroyed! We did try!
We had our ceremony in Gougane Barra. Due to Storm Brian, everyone had to squeeze indoors! It was so lovely and intimate but I imagine a nightmare for the photographers! Tara and Dave rose to the challenge and took many beautiful pictures throughout the ceremony. They are so discreet, you really don't notice they are there clicking away!! They blend in to any situation! We even managed a few quick shots outside!
We went onwards to The Imperial Hotel in Cork City and what a wonderful evening we had! Tara and Dave stayed well after the first dance and we have some fantastic pictures as a result!! I Ioved seeing people's reactions during the speeches and seeing shots of people dancing. We got beautiful family pictures which we will treasure forever.
For anyone looking for wedding photographers, then look no further than Tara Donoghue Photography! Tara and Dave are a pleasure to deal with and their work is so professional and fun! They deserve every success and the Wedding Photographer 2018 Brides of Kerry win was so well deserved!!!

They are both ultimate professionals and made us feel comfortable, relaxed and at ease despite this being a hugely nerve wracking day for both of us. Ever helpful and encouraging, any issues we had with time constraints or unplanned detours were quickly remedied. Hugely talented at the work that they both do, we could not possibly recommend this duo enough.

Simply put, Tara and Dave are amazing. From the first email to the follow up emails after the wedding, they were so professional and at the same time, such good fun. They offer a wide range of packages and it was so easy to get everything we wanted as standard, engagement photoshoot and wedding albums included. They were so fabulous to have around the morning of the wedding, such a calming influence and they both know exactly what to say and do to solve every possible ‘crisis’! We had mentioned to Tara and Dave about maybe getting some scenic photos on the day of the wedding, they were both completely up for it, so on the day, we took off hiking and got some amazing shots that we will treasure forever. We both really wanted photos that didn’t have us standing posing for the day and that’s what we got with Tara and Dave. We have all the family portraits that we love, but all of our favourite ones are the ones that we didn’t even know were being taken.
