Overall, we were quite pleased with everything except for 2 things. 1) why wouldn't a restaurant that serves top-priced steak, NOT have any horseradish? I agree that having fresh is best, I think having a jar of good quality store-bought horseradish available is better than nothing. That's like french fries with no ketchup! 2) The weather outside wasn't below zero but there was a cold draft coming from the back door and didn't subside all throughout dinner. There wasn't a separation from the back door into the seating area and the cold was coming right through to the tables, where we were directly sitting. Would visit again but maybe try in the Summertime and sit outside. More...

Should have talked to someone, the pork chop my wife ordered was a bomb!She was so looking forward to it! It missed on all counts,how does that happen. Poorly cut, cooked unevenly, fat in all the wrong places and very little seasoning.Most of it ended up back on the plate.no one seemed too concerned! EverythingElse at the place was very good . There is something special about going to a restaurant that is Not a chain and Tap is a special place. Unique dishes, delicious soup and a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food and service were excellent. We never felt pressed to expedite the meal in order to fill the table again.One thing we enjoy, is a nice bar to relax in before dinner or even eat in on occasion. Went for the first time with a couple friends on a busy Saturday night. We had reservations for 8 o'clock and when we arrived the restaurant was packed and we had to wait for a few minutes before they had our table ready. They were very attentive while we were waiting and actually brought a couple appies and a tasting of some red wine, which was a nice touch. Once seated we liked the cozy environment, tables were tightly packed into the modest sized restaurant. For the appetizers my wife tried the Sambuca prawns and I tried the terrine. The prawns were very tasty but only four in the serving. The terrine was fabulous - came with a wide  assortment of accompaniments - small gherkins, sprouts,  pomegranate seeds, roasted garlic and more as well as a generous serving of crustini. For the main course my wife ordered the filet with the Bay of Fundy scallops add on. I ordered the full rack of lamb. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal although she mentioned later that it was a rather small serving and needed the scallops to quench her appetite. My rack of lamb was absolutely fabulous, very generous serving, they were done perfectly, probably the best rack of lamb I've ever had!! The reduction and seasoning was delicious!! Overall the service was great and the food was definitely above average and I'm looking forward on returning soon to try some other menu items. More...

Food and service is generally excellent. I had the duck leg for an entree and it was excellent. My appetizer a bit less so, golden beet tapenade that ended up being a bit soggy. The wine list is a bit too heavy on the upper end of the price range, and markups are a bit above double liquor store price. A good dining experience but watch the wine choices. More...

What an incredible dining experience. We love fine dining and this restaurant does NOT disappoint. Warm but refined atmosphere and a menu with a wide variety for a fine palate. Enjoyed delicious cocktails, wines, charcuterie - and the wagyu beef & rack of lamb was nothing short of exceptional. Portions are perfect and don’t forget dessert. Had dinner here on the patio which was really nice, the area is very quite and relaxing. Started with the Caesar salad, terrine, and figs which were the days special. For our mains we had the lobster linguine and asparagus risotto. Firstly, the mains were amazing, so much freshness and flavour, that's all I can really say. Also huge pieces of lobster in the pasta. The appies were also very good, but mostly the figs. They were stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in prosciutto! Sooo good!
